This book focuses upon the relationship between effectiveness and
improvement in schools and colleges. The main theories and research
findings concerning organizational effectiveness and improvement
are brought together within this single volume. The book aims to
provide an understanding of the way in which organizational
effectiveness is conceptualized, measured and realized in practice.
It also explores the ways in which change associated with
organizational improvement is effectively managed. The emphasis
throughout the book is upon making theory accessible and of
practical use to those concerned with organizational effectiveness
and improvement. It will assist practitioners and managers to
understand how improvement can be initiated, managed and sustained
at all levels within the organization. This volume forms part of
the Leadership and Management in Education series. This four book
series provides a carefully chosen selection of high quality
readings on key contemporary themes in educational management:
professional development, reflection on practice, leadership, team
working, effectiveness and improvement, quality, strategy and
resources. The series will be an important resource for classroom
teachers and lecturers as well as those holding designated
management posts in schools and colleges and will provide a
valuable basis for professional development programmes.
Box set containing all three movies from the popular 'Darkman'
franchise. In 'Darkman' (1990), Doctor Peyton Westlake's (Liam
Neeson) attempts to clone body parts via computer are disturbed
when his laboratory is torched by a gang of thugs, with Westlake
left for dead. Horribly disfigured, he uses his equipment to
survive, reinventing himself as Darkman. Obssessed with getting
revenge on sadistic gang leader Robert G. Durant (Larry Drake),
Darkman is torn by his love for former girlfriend Julie (Frances
McDormand), and struggles to reconcile the two, warring sides of
his personality. 'Darkman 2 - The Return of Durant' (1994) sees the
return of the crime-fighting master of disguise, Darkman (Arnold
Vosloo replacing Neeson as the disfigured superhero), who, using
his former identity of Dr Peyton Westlake, is very close to
discovering the secret of making himself whole again. However, a
certain chain of events causes him to relive the nightmares which
disfigured him, leading him and his assistant to discover that his
old enemy, Robert G. Durant (Larry Drake), is not dead as thought,
but very much alive and kicking. 'Darkman 3 - Die Darkman Die'
(1995) is the final outing for Dr Peyton Westlake (Vosloo), alias
Darkman, who this time round does battle with a drugs baron (Jeff
Fahey). This villain wants to obtain the secret of Westlake's
superhuman strength, and Westlake is thus plunged into a game of
survival.

Complete collection of the sci-fi adventure series starring Brian
Downey and Michael McManus as crew members of the Lexx, the most
powerful spaceship in two universes. Stanley H. Tweedie (Downey), a
failed rebel who accidentally becomes captain of the ship, is
joined by Kai (Michael McManus), an undead, virtually
indestructable creature with no emotions (a 'Divine Assassin'), and
Xev (Xenia Seeberg), a love slave from the planet B3K. The series
follows this unlikely team as they attempt to free the universe
from the evil clutches of the insect civilisation (whose sole goal
is to exterminate humanity); travel to far away planets like Fire,
Water and Air; and eventually visit a place called Earth in search
of supplies, where they encounter such strange creatures as
hillbillies and politicians.
