We've worked with teachers to develop versions of our core textbooks that feature reduced content and language level, providing greater support and enabling students of all abilities to progress. Now available for the seven most popular options, these foundation versions help make the GCSE content more accessible and are designed to be easy-to-use alongside the core textbooks in a mixed ability classroom and are also ideal for home learning. How have we made them more accessible? We've reduced the level of the language to remove difficult words or phrases when possible. All the titles have been reviewed for reading age by a language expert. Easy-to-use alongside the core GCSE textbooks with content covered on each spread matched so you can use both versions together in a mixed ability classroom. More of the difficult words that students need to know are explained in key terms boxes, with definitions repeated through the books to reinforce learning. We've made our explanations more accessible for students targeting a grade 5 or below. Where possible, we've replaced paragraphs of text with easy-to-understand flow diagrams, mind maps or charts so there is significantly less text on the pages for students to tackle. The level of demand in the activities has been reduced and some of the harder ones removed. Exam tips have been re-focused to offer advice so that students of all abilities can secure as many marks as possible. The 'Preparing for your exam' chapters have been thoroughly rewritten with answers and commentary for students working towards a grade 5. New artworks have been added to make explanations more visual.

Quentin Crisp - The Profession of Being. A Biography (Paperback): Nigel Kelly Quentin Crisp - The Profession of Being. A Biography (Paperback)
Nigel Kelly
R655 Discovery Miles 6 550 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

English writer and raconteur Quentin Crisp (1908-1999) became a celebrity and gay icon at the age of 60 with the publication and televising of his 1968 memoir, The Naked Civil Servant. Unapologetically unconventional, he filled books and articles with his witticisms and opinions on popular culture, and packed theaters worldwide with his one-man show, An Evening with Quentin Crisp. This biography chronicles Crisp's life, including his birth in pre-World War I England; his life as a gay youth on the streets of London; his early attempts at writing and job-seeking; his entry into the world of modeling; and his overnight success late in life. With this definitive chronicle, Quentin Crisp and his unique worldview are once again on display.

Lamborghinis Don't Need Test-Driving - The Benefits For Guys Who Wait Until Marriage For Sex (Paperback): Nigel Kelly Lamborghinis Don't Need Test-Driving - The Benefits For Guys Who Wait Until Marriage For Sex (Paperback)
Nigel Kelly
R289 Discovery Miles 2 890 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

Why Should Guys Wait Until Marriage For Sex? Everybody knows that pre-marital sex runs the risk of STDs and pregnancy. But is that the only reason to wait until marriage? Aren't there any positive benefits gained from waiting? There are numerous benefits and they have not been given adequate attention. Summarized simply, waiting until marriage for sex makes you more of a man. Guys want to have sex, and lots of it, but even more central to their identity is their masculinity. The prevailing idea in our culture is that the more sex you have the more of a man you are. This book has the audacity to claim the opposite: Waiting until marriage makes you a bigger man. Lamborghinis Don't Need Test-Driving is the most creative book written for guys with the most innovative approach on the subject to date because it focuses on gaining positive benefits rather than avoiding negative consequences, it relies on logic and common sense rather than scare tactics, and it treats young guys as men rather than wayward youth. You already know that sex is awesome, but what if you found something even more incredible and more rewarding? What if waiting until marriage actually boosts your masculinity? You may find yourself coming to this shocking conclusion that waiting until marriage is the manliest use of your sexuality. If you want to challenge your preconceptions of sex and masculinity in the hopes of finding something greater than you dreamed possible, then buckle up, sit back, and enjoy the ride.
