Was bedeutet Menschenwurde? Wie lasst sie sich begrunden? Wem kommt sie zu? Wie lasst sich dieses Prinzip gesellschaftlich durchsetzen und auf welche bioethischen Konfliktfalle, insbesondere Konfliktfalle am Lebensanfang, Lebens- ende und im Rahmen gentechnischer Eingriffe am Menschen lasst es sich anwen- den? Dies sind die Fragen, die hinter der vorliegenden Untersuchung stehen. Diese Arbeit ware ohne die Foerderung durch die Deutsche Forschungsgemein- schaft (DFG) und das interdisziplinare Munchener Ethikinstitut Technik- Theologie-Naturwissenschaften (TTN) nicht moeglich gewesen. Ganz besonders moechte ich dem langjahrigen Vorsitzenden des Instituts Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Trutz Rendtorff danken. Er hat das Projekt Menschenwurde als regulatives Prinzip in der Bioethik initiiert und uber die ganze Projektdauer hinweg wertvol- le Anregungen gegeben. Ich ubernahm im Rahmen des Projekts die Aufgabe, eine interdisziplinare Arbeitsgruppe zu bilden und vor dem Hintergrund der Diskus- sionen dieser Arbeitsgruppe selbststandig forschend die vorliegende Studie zu erstellen. Allen Mitwirkenden im Arbeitskreis dieses Projekts danke ich fur wichtige Impulse und Verbesserungsvorschlage. Ein besonderer Dank gilt dabei Prof. Dr. Jurgen Simon. Er hat die Arbeit als Promotionsprojekt des Fachbereichs fur Wirtschaft- und Sozialwissenschaften der Universitat Luneburg angenommen und uber den ganzen Zeitraum begleitet.
