Epic Story Of One Of England's All Round Athlete Who Renounced Wealth And Position To Answer The Call.
Epic Story Of One Of England's All Round Athlete Who Renounced Wealth And Position To Answer The Call.
The Meaning of Life is the transcription of a series of six talks given by Norman Grubb in the early 1970's to Camps Farthest Out, a non-denominational group of Christians seeking to find the deeper truths of God...of themselves...of life...and how to live it. CFO had numerous guest speakers and this was one of several times Norman shared his knowings' with them. Norman's passion and joy was always to tell every seeker how a perfect God lives in His perfectly created humans. In John 17, Jesus' last prayer before He goes to the Cross, Jesus prays for all of those who will believe in Him...that we might be one even as He and the Father are one. Jesus called the promise of His Cross oneness and unity...Norman spoke of the fulfillment of His promise as our union with Christ. In these talks Norman shows us, step by step, how the Father accomplishes His purposes for each of us. The front cover of this book is a shadow' of this very truth. It is a picture of Moses' burning bush - a common bush aflame, yet not consumed...a profound image of man aflame with the Living Christ, but remaining fully human This IS the meaning of life...God living and moving and having His being in and as man...Christ was seen and experienced through the human Jesus two thousand years ago and since Pentecost...Christ, by His Holy Spirit, has come to live again in all who receive Him.
Epic Story Of One Of England's All Round Athlete Who Renounced Wealth And Position To Answer The Call.
In a college room at Cambridge University in 1920 twenty four young men, who had heard God's call to the mission field, knew they wanted to keep in touch after they had gone their separate, God-appointed ways. They had formed a close bond during the previous years at Cambridge as they prayed together, studied their Bibles together and shared their faith in Jesus Christ with fellow students, calling themselves the Cambridge University Missionary Band (C.U.M.B.). In the next seventy years these men would be involved in worldwide movements of the Holy Spirit. This book contains the letters of one member of the Band, Norman Percy Grubb. Although not at the inaugural meeting because he was already in the Belgian Congo with C.T. Studd, Norman was one in heart with his brothers. They shared intimately with each other-their successes, sorrows, joys and failures. In these letters spanning the years 1922 thru 1989, you will find men of faith; men with a heart and passion to share their Saviour; ordinary men; extraordinary men; men involved in many great and worldwide movements of the Spirit and simple men with a lifelong love for their Lord, their families and each other. You will find yourself caught up in history and inspired as you share in the lives of these "called" men of God.
Does revival come only in great soul-shaking outpourings of the Spirit? "NO!" says Norman Grubb. Revival is within reach of everyday people and can be experienced in your heart, home and church. Follow the author as he takes you through his experiences and the effect on his life of brokenness and ongoing personal revival he found as a result of his exposure to the revival movement in Rwanda, Africa, in 1950. Learn the working secret which brought continuous revival to thousands over a period of sixteen years. Not mere theory, but personal experence! Read this book and let the reviver do His work in you.
