In the year 2018, the world is ruled by corporate powers and one of
the principle forms of entertainment is Rollerball, a fast paced
sport played around a circular track. When the reigning champion
(James Caan) becomes too popular, and refuses the corporation's
request that he retire, the rules of the sport are changed in a
deliberate attempt to get rid of him - the contestants now find
themselves engaged in a game where the main objective is to kill
your opponent.
When Johnny Cammareri (Danny Aiello) goes to visit his dying mother
in Sicily, he asks his long-term girlfriend Loretta (Cher) to
contact his estranged brother Ronny (Nicolas Cage) and invite him
to their upcoming wedding. Ronny, a hot-headed baker, turns out to
be everything his brother is not, and soon he and his prospective
sister-in-law are embarking on a passionate affair. Oscars were won
by Cher, supporting actress Olympia Dukakis, and writer John
Patrick Shanley.

Rock Hudson and Doris Day team up for their third and final film
together. George Kimball (Hudson) is a hypochondriac who mistakenly
believes that he is going to die after overhearing his doctor
discussing a terminal case. He enlists the help of his best friend
and neighbour, Arnold (Tony Randall), in finding a new spouse for
wife Judy (Day), but all does not go smoothly. When Judy's former
paramour Bert (Clint Walker) shows up at their country club, George
finds himself actually encouraging his attentions!
Self-made property developer Thomas Crown (Steve McQueen)
masterminds a successful billion-dollar bank job, even though he
has no need of the money. Beautiful insurance investigator Vicky
Anderson (Faye Dunaway) begins to look into the case and
instinctively picks Crown out as the major suspect. Thus begins an
intriguing cat-and-mouse game, with Crown treating Anderson to a
fine old time - beach buggies, gliders, kinky chess games - as the
pair try to simultaneously seduce and outwit each other. Norman
Jewison directs.
