In 1999, Norman Ramsey experienced a vivid and unsettling dream. An earthquake occurred in Japan and the aftermath of its shaking was devastating, an even more violent shaking erupted in Southern California, and then a plane carrying Michael Gorbachev went down over Eastern Europe. In between each sequence of events, Norman asked God one simple question, "Why?" In the dream the answers were revealed. A Nation Pierced describes the answers spoken to Norman in that night vision and calls for us as a nation to "look upon the One who has been pierced" for us and turn to Him in repentance. It provides ample reason for why that repentance is the most important event that needs to take place in our country. More than any election, more than any solution or compromise we can agree to rally around, we need to come to Jesus in repentance and faithful surrender. This dream also had a very specific date for when the central judgement would occur, 6/22. Norman could no longer ignore the necessity of writing these things down when the first part of the dream happened in 2011 at the exact halfway point (3/11) the dream had foreshadowed. The urgency to write came a second time as Norman read this headline on 3/11/13: "southern California quake could be foreshock for something larger."
