This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of
the 11th International Conference on Wireless Mobile Communication
and Healthcare, MobiHealth 2022, held in November 30 – December
2, 2022, Via Virtual. The 28 full papers, 1 Demo paper and 1 Poster
paper of MobiHealth 2022 were carefully selected from 75
submissions and present science and technology aspects in the field
of wireless communication, mobile computing and healthcare
applications. The conference papers are organized in topical
sections on Biomedical, and Health Informatics, Health
Information Systems, Medical, Communications and
Networking, Signal/Data Processing and Computing For Health
Systems.
Addresses an Emerging Shift in Developing Countries The authors and
contributors of Ambient Assisted Living have recognized that the
demographic profile is changing in many developing countries and
have factored in an inversion of the demographic pyramid. The
technology of ambient assisted living (AAL), supports the elderly
and disabled in their daily routines to allow for safe and
independent living for as long as possible. Dedicated to ambient
intelligence-electronic environments that are sensitive and
responsive to the presence of people-Ambient Assisted Living
highlights the technologies that center on the needs of these
special interest groups, such as the elderly or people with
disabilities. Beneficial to students, practitioners, and users of
ambient assisted living (AAL), this text compiles scattered
information on the subject, outlines the most important and
significant work in related literature, and covers the latest
hardware and software for ergonomic design pertaining to AAL. From
inception to implementation, the text assesses what has been
produced and researched so far and looks for trends and clues for
the future. It reviews literature on AAL published since 2007 and
describes the main features and areas of products or systems that
interlink and improve new or existing technologies and systems.
This text: Provides extensive coverage of the applications,
software, and information management for AAL Contains an overview
of the concepts related to AAL Includes a comprehensive review of
the state of the art on pervasive and mobile health (m-health)
applications Describes a set of projects and work with scientific
relevance in AAL Introduces a framework focused on the monitoring
and assistance of elderly persons living alone Discusses a
prospective study on technological systems for people with
cognitive disabilities Ambient Assisted Living highlights
technologies that adapt to the user rather than the user adapting
to the technology. This text proposes technologies that can enable
assisted persons to live independently for longer and reduce the
need for long-term care.
This book addresses theories and empirical procedures for the
application of machine learning and data mining to solve problems
in cyber dynamics. It explains the fundamentals of cyber dynamics,
and presents how these resilient algorithms, strategies, techniques
can be used for the development of the cyberspace environment such
as: cloud computing services; cyber security; data analytics; and,
disruptive technologies like blockchain. The book presents new
machine learning and data mining approaches in solving problems in
cyber dynamics. Basic concepts, related work reviews,
illustrations, empirical results and tables are integrated in each
chapter to enable the reader to fully understand the concepts,
methodology, and the results presented. The book contains empirical
solutions of problems in cyber dynamics ready for industrial
applications. The book will be an excellent starting point for
postgraduate students and researchers because each chapter is
design to have future research directions.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 6th International
Conference on Internet of Things (IoT) Technologies for HealthCare,
HealthyIoT 2019, held in Braga, Portugal, in December 2019. The IoT
as a set of existing and emerging technologies, notions and
services can provide many solutions to delivery of electronic
healthcare, patient care, and medical data management. The 10
revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected
from 26 submissions. The papers cover topics such as healthcare
information systems, consumer health, health informatics,
engineering, telecommunications, mathematics and statistics, life
and medical sciences, and cloud computing.
This open access book was prepared as a Final Publication of the
COST Action IC1303 "Algorithms, Architectures and Platforms for
Enhanced Living Environments (AAPELE)". The concept of Enhanced
Living Environments (ELE) refers to the area of Ambient Assisted
Living (AAL) that is more related with Information and
Communication Technologies (ICT). Effective ELE solutions require
appropriate ICT algorithms, architectures, platforms, and systems,
having in view the advance of science and technology in this area
and the development of new and innovative solutions that can
provide improvements in the quality of life for people in their
homes and can reduce the financial burden on the budgets of the
healthcare providers. The aim of this book is to become a
state-of-the-art reference, discussing progress made, as well as
prompting future directions on theories, practices, standards, and
strategies related to the ELE area. The book contains 12 chapters
and can serve as a valuable reference for undergraduate students,
post-graduate students, educators, faculty members, researchers,
engineers, medical doctors, healthcare organizations, insurance
companies, and research strategists working in this area.
The convergence of two powerful technologies wireless and the
Internet through IPv4/v6 protocol has led to emergence of
next-generation networks (NGNs). NGN is no more a network of mere
computers but a connected conglomeration of varied networks with
diverse physical properties, with a plethora of network elements,
along with a variety of real-time multimedia applications. This
book covers the entire gamut of technology challenges from physical
layer to application layer including security from both academic
and industrial perspectives.
