Ontological Engineering refers to the set of activities that
concern the ontology development process, the ontology life cycle,
the methods and methodologies for building ontologies, and the tool
suites and languages that support them. During the last decade,
increasing attention has been focused on ontologies and Ontological
Engineering. Ontologies are now widely used in Knowledge
Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science; in
applications related to knowledge management, natural language
processing, e-commerce, intelligent integration information,
information retrieval, integration of databases, b- informatics,
and education; and in new emerging fields like the Semantic Web.
Primary goals of this book are to acquaint students, researchers
and developers of information systems with the basic concepts and
major issues of Ontological Engineering, as well as to make
ontologies more understandable to those computer science engineers
that integrate ontologies into their information systems. We have
paid special attention to the influence that ontologies have on the
Semantic Web. Pointers to the Semantic Web appear in all the
chapters, but specially in the chapter on ontology languages and
tools.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th Extended
Semantic Web Conference, ESWC 2012, held in Heraklion, Crete,
Greece, in May 2012. The 53 revised full papers presented were
carefully reviewed and selected from 212 submissions. They are
organized in tracks on linked open data, machine learning, natural
language processing and information retrieval, ontologies,
reasoning, semantic data management, services, processes, and cloud
computing, social Web and Web science, in-use and industrial,
digital libraries and cultural heritage, and e-government. The book
also includes 13 PhD papers presented at the PhD Symposium.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 23rd
International Conference on Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge
Management, EKAW 2022, held in Bolzano, Italy, in September 2022.
The 11 full papers presented together with 5 short papers were
carefully reviewed and selected from 57 submissions The previous
event in the series, EKAW 2020, introduced a special theme related
to "Ethical and Trustworthy Knowledge Engineering." This theme is
still very relevant in 2022, and thus has remained one of the core
topics of the conference. The conference concerned with all aspects
about eliciting, acquiring, modeling and managing knowledge, and
the construction of knowledge-intensive systems and services for
the semantic web, knowledge management, e-business, natural
language processing, intelligent information integration, and much
more.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 26th International
Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries, TPDL 2022,
which took place in Padua, Italy, in September 2022. The 18 full
papers, 27 short papers and 15 accelerating innovation papers
included in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected
from 107 submissions. They focus on digital libraries and
associated technical, practical, and social issues.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 18th
International Semantic Web Conference, ESWC 2021, held virtually in
June 2021. The 41 full papers and 2 short papers presented were
carefully reviewed and selected from 167 submissions. The papers
were submitted to three tracks: the research track, the resource
track and the in-use track. These tracks showcase research and
development activities, services and applications, and innovative
research outcomes making their way into industry. The research
track caters to both long-standing and emerging research topics in
the form of the following subtracks: ontologies and reasoning;
knowledge graphs (understanding, creating, and exploiting);
semantic data management, querying and distributed data; data
dynamics, quality, and trust; matching, integration, and fusion;
NLP and information retrieval; machine learning; science data and
scholarly communication; and problems to solve before you die.
