Condition Report: Symposium on Building Art Institutions in Africa is a collection of essays resulting from of the symposium held in Dakar in 2012. They address the changing role of art institutions and initiatives in Africa, where the cultural and artistic context is characterized by a predominance of government led art programs and infrastructure.

The last decade has witnessed the emergence of a variety of independent art spaces using a wide range of formats to promote art and critical exchange. These initiatives draw a new cartography of artistic action in Africa. This reader looks at the structural and programmatic issues at play within those institutions. Models and profiles of art institutions developed in other regions of the world are also examined. The publication also discusses how former colonial powers define and implement their strategies of cultural representation and exchange in post-colonial areas, and how these in turn influence local dynamics of cultural action.

Langue traditionellement classe dans le groupe ouest atlantique de la famille Niger-Congo, le wolof est essentiellement parl dans la partie extrme ouest de lAfrique: au Sngal, en Gambie et en Mauritanie. Il est la langue nationale la plus rpandue au Sngal et est parl par environ 80% de la population. Beaucoup d'tudes ont t faites sur la langue mais les phrases complexes n'ont pas t, avant cet ouvrage, rellement abordes. Le travail, ici prsent, est une tude descriptive des structures syntaxiques de la phrase complexe en wolof. Il consistait montrer, dans les grandes lignes, les constructions des types de propositions coordonnes, juxtaposes, subordonnes et les particularits morphosyntaxiques de leurs lments constitutifs. L'analyse des phrases complexes est base sur un corpus de textes crits et oraux authentiques. Bien qu'elle soit une analyse synchronique de la langue, elle a fait appel a des considrations d'ordre diachronique, si besoin en tait.
