All theoretical and observational topics relevant to the
understanding of the thermonuclear (Type Ia) supernova phenomenon
are thoroughly and consistently reviewed by a panel including the
foremost experts in the field. The book covers all aspects, ranging
from the observations of SNe Ia at all stages and all wavelengths
to the 2D and 3D modelling of thermonuclear flames in very dense
plasmas. Scenarios for close binary evolution leading to SNe Ia are
discussed. Particular emphasis is placed on the homogeneity vs.
diversity of SNe Ia and on their use as standard candles to measure
cosmological parameters. The book reflects the recent and very
significant progress made in both the modelling of the explosions
and in the observational field.

These meetings, held every four years, bring together
researchers from academia and industry and offer a forum for
discussions on the chemistry involved in the preparation of
industrial heterogeneous catalysts. Contributions focus on the
aspects of catalyst preparation. Reports on physico-chemical
characteristics of catalysts and catalytic performances are limited
to correlations with the preparation parameters.

This volume of Studies in Surface Science and Catalysis contains
the Proceedings of the 9th International Symposium on the
Scientific Bases for the Preparation of Heterogeneous Catalysts,
held on the campus of the "Universit catholique de Louvain" (UCL)
in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, on September 10-14, 2006. This series
of symposia was initiated in 1975 on a regular 4-year interval
basis.
The Symposium covered the following topics: key aspects in
catalysts preparation, micro- and mesoporous supports, supported
metal catalysts, structured catalysts, tailored zeolites, catalysis
by bases, and catalysts for fuel production. These topics served as
guidelines for the sessions both in the programs of oral
communications (41 contributions including 7 keynote communications
- one for each topic) and poster presentations (101 contributions).
In addition, the opening invited lecture addressed the question of
scaling-up high-throughput experimental approaches.

It has become a tradition that every four years, the Universite
Catholique de Louvain and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven
jointly organize a symposium devoted to the scientific bases for
the preparation of heterogeneous catalysts. These meetings bring
together researchers from academia and industry and offer a forum
for discussions on the chemistry involved in the preparation of
industrial heterogeneous catalysts.
This volume containing the Proceedings of the 8th International
Symposium on Scientific Bases for the Preparation of Heterogeneous
Catalysts consists of papers summarizing most of the 139 oral
communications and posters selected by the international scientific
committee, composed of 27 experts in the field of catalyst
preparation, holding an industrial or academia appointment.
The contributions focus on the aspects of catalyst preparation. The
main topics are: new approaches in catalyst preparation; advanced
preparations of nanoporous and mesoporous catalysts; catalysts
preparation for special performances and purposes; catalysts for
environmental purposes; and molecular catalysis. Emphasis is put on
the role that catalysis can play as an essential element of
sustainable development.
This book presents high-quality research papers presented at 2nd
International Conference on Smart Data Intelligence (ICSMDI 2022)
organized by Kongunadu College of Engineering and Technology at
Trichy, Tamil Nadu, India, during April 2022. This book brings out
the new advances and research results in the fields of algorithmic
design, data analysis, and implementation on various real-time
applications. It discusses many emerging related fields like big
data, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and
deep learning which have deployed a paradigm shift in various
data-driven approaches that tends to evolve new data-driven
research opportunities in various influential domains like social
networks, healthcare, information, and communication applications.
Estudios para la configuracio n de las facies cera micas
altoimperiales en el Sur de la Peni nsula Ibe rica explores economy
and trade in the south of the Iberian peninsula during the High
Roman Empire. Different methodologies, techniques and approaches to
archaeological research are applied in the analysis and study of
ceramic contexts in several marketplaces or consumption centres in
the area. Special attention is given to ceramic facies
predominantly characterised by the presence of fine pottery. In
addition, the examination of local ceramics points towards a
complexity whose interpretation has been biased until a few decades
ago by the presence of wares imported from other Mediterranean
regions as a result of the intensity of Roman trade. Furthermore,
exploration beyond traditional analytical parameters highlights,
for example, the relevance of the phenomenon of pottery vessel
imitation.
