Contemporary city and suburban dwellers are constantly on the move. Does this mean they lack a sense of belonging to their neighbourhoods, or does enhanced mobility co-exist with feelings of community and belonging? In recent years, a number of high-profile incidents of sexual violence at institutions of higher education (IHEs) have heightened congressional and administration scrutiny of the policies and procedures that IHEs currently have in place to address campus sexual violence and how these policies and procedures can be improved. Campus sexual violence is widely acknowledged to be a problem. However, reported data on the extent of sexual violence at IHEs varies considerably across studies for a variety of methodological and other reasons. Victims of sexual violence may suffer from a range of physical and mental health conditions including injuries, pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, suicidality, and substance abuse. College students who are the victims of sexual violence may experience a decline in academic performance, and they may drop out, leave school, or transfer. This book provides an overview of issues and actions of sexual violence on campuses.
Your Real Estate Appraisal is a simple guide, to the appraisal and its process, ideal for homeowners, real estate agents, and various professions within the mortgage industry. It is ideal for any mortgage professional seeking transparency in an appraisal report. Common problems are identified and some factors should be considered before applying for a home mortgage. The discussion also relates to first time homebuyers and what a new borrower should be wary of, what are good home investments and how to rebut an appraisal, if an appraised value is questionable. Anyone applying for mortgage financing should consider all aspects of the process and that includes the appraisal. In today's market a homeowner or buyer should also consider who will be handling the appraisal, asking their loan officer which AMC, if applicable, will order the appraisal. Then check that this company has a good reputation. This and many other pieces of important information are included in "Your Real Estate Appraisal."

This study aims to trace Conrad's literary career in the context of his life, his times and his intellectual background, thus providing the reader with an historical basis for his works. A chronological table is followed by a concise biographical survey which pays particular attention to the financing of Conrad's odyssey through the world. Illustrations of his cultural milieu and of his ability to create a literary identity are then examined. Finally, the author follows Conrad's career as a writer from the early days of struggle to the late days of popular success, emphasizing the material circumstances of his literary production. A general point made is that when his career is considered historically, emphasis falls less on Conrad as the author of "canonical texts" for academic study than on Conrad as communicator - a writer who, in the burgeoning era of mass communications, was able to address his public on both sides of the Atlantic through popular magazines and newspapers as well as through pages of volumes.
It has long been known that almost all elite athletes use imagery and that most sport psychologists apply imagery in working with athletes. But most material on the subject has been, to this point, relegated to single chapters in books, to journal articles, or to conference proceedings. Now "Imagery in Sport" addresses the breadth of what researchers and practitioners in sport psychology know about the topic, and it treats each issue in depth, considering current theories and research on imagery and its application in sport. The reference also addresses future directions in research and practice for imagery in sport. In doing so, "Imagery in Sport" provides the most comprehensive look at the state of imagery and its uses in sport today. The authors take readers step by step through understanding, investigating, applying, and advancing imagery in sport. The text includes the following: -Sample scripts, preperformance suggestions, and sport-specific and site-specific tips -Presentation and critical analysis of 10 well-known theoretical frameworks for understanding imagery -A full chapter devoted to understanding and successfully using the available measures of imagery in sport, including how to administer imagery-ability measures"Imagery in Sport" takes complex theories and presents them clearly, using examples from everyday sport contexts. The book helps readers become familiar with the current knowledge about the topic and learn to view it with a critical eye. And it provides practicing sport psychologists with guidelines and strategies for using imagery to help athletes improve their performances.
