Entrepreneurship, as the creation of new organizations, has globally become an appealing call for individuals and governments alike. Too often still, it is simply associated with the idea of 'enterprise', thus sustaining a pervasive politics of homo economicus agents living a 'measured life' in competition-based individuality. Organizational Entrepreneurship, Politics and the Political disconnects entrepreneurship from the politics of enterprise to more fully explore its potential to resist the economic and ethical demand of the enterprise to be instrumentally innovative and instead to disrupt and disturb the established order. As such, entrepreneurship is seen as inevitably political – it is a constant attempt at declassifying existing structures and institutions, de-normalizing practices and sensemaking to make room for and initiate the new. The chapters invite the readers to revisit key concepts in entrepreneurship studies – opportunity, motivation, identity, experimentation, creative destruction and experimentation – by approaching them through a political process lens. This book offers a new conceptual repertoire and vocabulary that reconnects entrepreneurship studies with the socio-political dimensions of organization-creation, opening up multiple possibilities for understanding and questioning the meanings and effects of entrepreneurship in society. This book discusses the upgrade of the Super-Kamiokande (SK) detector, which consists in the addition of a salt of gadolinium into the detector's water, the goal being to endow it with a very high-efficiency ability to detect neutrons: the SuperK-Gd project. This will substantially improve the scientific value of the SK detector because, among others, neutron production is related to the matter-antimatter character of the interacting neutrino. In this book the authors develop several procedures for maximizing the impact of neutron tagging in various physics analyses involving a broad range of neutrino energy. They thoroughly study the impact of new backgrounds introduced by Gd in key physics analyses, most remarkably including the search for the Diffuse Supernova Neutrino Background. At GeV energies, the neutron tagging improvements are evaluated by performing a complete neutrino oscillation sensitivity study using atmospheric and long baseline neutrinos, with a focus on the neutrino mass hierarchy and the leptonic CP violation. In order to prove the relevance of neutron tagging with the available data, the authors apply the neutron-tagging tools developed here to the 4th phase of the SK detector, which is already capable of detecting a low fraction of the neutrons produced through hydrogen-neutron captures. A global oscillation analysis of the SK's atmospheric neutrino data is also conducted.

El presente libro trata sobre el estudio de la diversidad de bacterias diazotroficas con capacidad de sintesis de polimeros biodegradables tipo PHAs aisladas de nodulos de fabaceas silvestres en Narino, Colombia. Estudiar la diversidad microbiana y la sintesis de PHAs incluye tambien la complejidad de su nicho. Por ello, en la presente investigacion se hizo un proceso de rastreo de plantas y bacterias productoras de PHAs basado en el concepto de diversidad funcional. Se colectaron e identificaron leguminosas, se obtuvieron diversos morfotipos a partir de extractos nodulares, se identificaron morfotipos bacterianos diazotrofos y algunos se usaron para estudios cineticos y de sintesis de PHAs. A traves de este libro, se presenta una vision global de los estudios relacionados tanto con ecologia microbiana, como en el aprovechamiento biotecnologico de diazotrofos productores de PHAs. Esta obra tiene el proposito de incrementar el conocimiento en el estudio de la diversidad estructural diazotrofica y plantea un modelo desde una perspectiva global para el desarrollo de plasticos biodegradables a partir de diazotrofos."

El Tumor de Celulas Gigantes es un tumor de comportamiento localmente agresivo y que asienta a nivel oseo proximo a las articulaciones en pacientes jovenes. La larga trayectoria en el tratamiento de los tumores oseos en el Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca y la controversia actual en el diagnostico y tratamiento de este tumor nos llevo a realizar esta Memoria. Todos los pacientes de la serie fueron sometidos a una completa anamnesis y exploracion fisica y se cuantificaron los intervalos transcurridos desde la aparicion de los sintomas, momento de consulta, diagnostico y tratamiento. Se valora las tecnicas diagnosticas empleadas, asi como el tratamiento quirurgico bien mediante procedimiento intralesional o reseccion amplia y las tecnicas de reconstruccion. Se estudia la integracion de los aloinjertos estructurales mediante la escala ISOLS y la integracion del aloinjerto triturado mediante la escala VIIT. Tambien se valora los resultados funcionales mediante la escala EFCOM."

Los aloinjertos oseos estructurales han supuesto una alternativa al tratamiento de los tumores oseos de miembros con posibilidad de cirugia de conservacion del miembro. Presentamos un estudio retrospectivo observacional del manejo de los aloinjertos oseos estructurales en tumores oseos de huesos largos en nuestro hospital, durante los anos 1993 a 2010, en el que obtenemos una muestra de 37 pacientes subsidiarios de esta tecnica quirurgica. Mediante la obtencion de datos clinicos de la muestra aplicamos las escalas de funcionalidad de MANKIN y EVACOM HUVA con resultados excelentes, muy buenos o buenos del 84%, y con los datos radiologicos aplicamos la escala de osteointegracion ISOLS con un 95,6% de resultados excelentes a los 24 meses. Estos resultados nos muestran que los aloinjertos oseos estructurales constituyen una tecnica valida y reproducible en pacientes con tumores oseos destructivos de huesos largos."
