Book Is For Java developers and architects who would like to
implement a data lake for their enterprise will find this book
useful. If you want to get hands-on experience with the Lambda
Architecture and big data technologies by implementing a practical
solution using these technologies, this book will also help you.
What You Will Learn * Build an enterprise-level data lake using the
relevant big data technologies * Understand the core of the Lambda
architecture and how to apply it in an enterprise * Learn the
technical details around Sqoop and its functionalities * Integrate
Kafka with Hadoop components to acquire enterprise data * Use flume

Streaming * Incorporate Hadoop components and know the advantages
they provide for enterprise data lakes * Build fast, streaming, and
high-performance applications using ElasticSearch * Make your data
ingestion process consistent across various data formats with
configurability * Process your data to derive intelligence using
machine learning algorithms In Detail The term "Data Lake" has
recently emerged as a prominent term in the big data industry. Data
scientists can make use of it in deriving meaningful insights that
can be used by businesses to redefine or transform the way they
operate. Lambda architecture is also emerging as one of the very
eminent patterns in the big data landscape, as it not only helps to
derive useful information from historical data but also correlates
real-time data to enable business to take critical decisions. This
book tries to bring these two important aspects - data lake and
lambda architecture-together. This book is divided into three main
sections. The first introduces you to the concept of data lakes,
the importance of data lakes in enterprises, and getting you
up-to-speed with the Lambda architecture. The second section delves
into the principal components of building a data lake using the
Lambda architecture. It introduces you to popular big data
technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Sqoop, Flume, and
ElasticSearch. The third section is a highly practical
demonstration of putting it all together, and shows you how an
enterprise data lake can be implemented, along with several
real-world use-cases. It also shows you how other peripheral
components can be added to the lake to make it more efficient. By
the end of this book, you will be able to choose the right big data
technologies using the lambda architectural patterns to build your
enterprise data lake. Style and approach The book takes a pragmatic
approach, showing ways to leverage big data technologies and lambda
architecture to build an enterprise-level data lake.
A gripping tale of mystery, adventure, romance and international
intrigue.
Today Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. But around 450 years
back, this capital of the magnificent Vijayanagar Empire was
brutally plundered and devastated. But before it happened, its
masters hid a secret. Centuries later, a young couple chance upon
an object that holds a secret much more than Hampi had hidden, in a
place 2000 miles far north of Hampi - the Himalayas.
The Himalayas have something to tell and when they do - two
nations become so desperate to get it that they are ready to go to
any lengths, even global annihilation. What happens next is thrill
laced fast paced adventure. Read the book to find out more....
The Chronicles of Devi is an eternal story... The celebration of
triumph of a single woman and her lion over the forces of evil. A
story which celebrates the power of a unique woman who could create
life as well as destroy to save her creation.
Billions of years ago, a wonderful experiment started on planet
Bhuvan when a celestial woman, DEVI puffed life on Bhuvan. As
Bhuvan rotated on its axis, the celestial rondures churned to
create three worlds on it. The radiant white orbs created the
upper-earth called Swarg, the warm green orbs created the
middle-earth Dharti and dark black orbs created under-earth Patal.
In their final moments, each rondure expanded till it burst open
like a seed pod and revealed a fully developed yet "sui generis"
life form.
Devi had not imagined that her creations would spawn so rapidly
and be so quickly consumed by their own lust, greed, gluttony,
pride, and envy to a degree that would threaten the very existence
of the planet, Bhuvan, also called Earth, that nurtured them. She
knew that the intelligence she imparted to the humans was a double
edged sword-one that could be used to deepen their knowledge beyond
known realms, but at the same time could annihilate its user if in
wrong hands. Devi knew this before she sparked the helix of human
life. She smiled knowingly as she did it, but she wanted to see how
the humans dealt with the issue of right and wrong when they
encountered it amongst their own kind. It was an experiment for her
to create bigger universes.
Today she was amused, but even more irritated. The world that she
had created with such love was facing a threat to its survival.
Such was the irony that the very hands which rose toward her
begging for help, and the hands which ominously threatened to chop
them off, all belonged to her own children.
But Devi had no doubt in her mind. She knew how to pacify them
both. A motherly glance which can soothe even the most troubled
heart instantaneously, or a swift blow to knock one senseless-both
of these were at her command and she would not hesitate to use
them. Mahisha need to be taught a lesson. Attempting to become the
new lord of universe, the fool was not only attempting to challenge
Devi's own authority but was also tormenting others to an
unconscionable degree.
And then Devi came to Bhuvan in the form of Mahalakshmi.
A woman and her lion who became a legend,
Together they fought, to vanquish the evil on Bhuvan and restore
the balance of nature,
Read the book for an exhilarating journey of creation of life, an
unprecedented cataclysm and the ultimate triumph.
The story of an epic adventure in the second book of The Chronicles
Of Devi series. One thousand years had passed since planet Bhuvan
was rid of evil Mahisha by Devi's incarnation, Mahalakshmi, and
life on Bhuvan was flourishing. But in the Asur Empire, which
flourished in under-earth Patal, some were not happy. Although
many, many years had passed since their ancestors witnessed the
vanquishing of Mahisha, they had still not reconciled themselves to
defeat at the hands of Devi and the subsequent handing over of
power to the Devas. Stirrings of revenge were resurging in the
hearts of the Asurs. Deep within them a hungry desire to once again
be the supreme lords of Bhuvan still lived and flourished. In the
beautiful gardens of under-earth Patal, the handsome Danava
princes, Shumbh and Nishumbh plan their strategy. But, the biggest
obstacle to their plans was Devi. She again takes form. A woman and
her lion who return to planet Bhuvan and establish the rule of law.
Centuries pass but the legend lives on.
