Box set containing all four films from the popular 'Lethal Weapon' series. In 'Lethal Weapon' (1987), Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) is a family man cop who is about to turn fifty. Cautious by nature, he is less than happy to be paired with Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) when he is assigned to investigate Californian drug baron 'The General' (Mitchell Ryan). Following the death of his wife, Riggs has become a manic loner who no longer cares whether he lives or dies - an approach which causes more than a few problems as he and Murtaugh attempt to bring the General to justice. In 'Lethal Weapon 2' (1989), Riggs (Gibson) and his partner Murtaugh (Glover) once again tackle the evils of drug smuggling, this time coming up against a South African syndicate whose kingpins are protected by diplomatic immunity. In 'Lethal Weapon 3' (1992), Detectives Murtaugh (Glover) and Riggs (Gibson) are both demoted after triggering a car bomb in a multi-storey car park, but they are soon reinstated after uncovering a network - run by an ex-cop - which is smuggling weapons out of a police ammunition dump. Finally, in 'Lethal Weapon 4' (1998), mismatched cops Riggs (Gibson) and Murtaugh (Glover) team up for a fourth time to foil an immigrant smuggling racket, run by a ruthless Asian Triad leader (Jet Li). Joe Pesci also returns as Leo Getz, the cops' cowardly informant whilst Rene Russo leavens the boys with toys atmosphere as risk-taking detective Lorna Cole.
Mia Farrow and Robert Redford star in this romantic drama based on the novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, adapted for the screen by Francis Ford Coppola and directed by Jack Clayton. Set in the decadent 1920s, the story follows Yale graduate and former soldier Nick Carraway (Sam Waterston) as he begins a new life in New York. While there, he becomes intrigued by the life of his neighbour, Jay Gatsby (Redford), a self-made, hedonistic millionaire, who rekindles his affair with the now unhappily married Daisy (Farrow). Becoming involved in Gatsby's social circle, Nick bears witness to their intense relationship which ultimately results in tragedy.
Michael Caine and Roger Moore play two con-men who decide to perpetrate a heist disguised as the dodgy scientists Dr Hicklar and Sir John Bavistock, whilst the real scientists (also played by Caine and Moore) are, unknown to their impersonators, trying to sell a secret formula to the highest bidder. John Cleese, Patsy Kensit and Jenny Seagrove make brief cameo appearances in this comedy.
All six episodes from the first series of the ribald comedy written by and starring 'Bo'Selecta!' comedian Leigh Francis. The Bear (Francis) has been adopted into the Hennerson family, where mum Helen (Patsy Kensit), dad Richard (Sean Pertwee) and teenager Lillian (Yasmin Kerr) have a hard time adjusting to his risque antics. Also featured is their transvestite neighbour, Dave Ian McCall (Davina McCall). Episodes are: 'The Good, the Bear, and the Ugly'; 'Adventures in Bearbysitting'; 'The Son of Bear-elzebub'; 'Meet the Bearents'; 'Blame it on the Bearboy'; and 'Two Weddings, a Bear and No Funeral'.
