Paul Davidsson, Harko Verhagen
R1,408 Discovery Miles 14 080 Ships in 18 - 22 working days

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 19th International Workshop on Multi-Agent-Based Simulation, MABS 2019, held in Stockholm Sweden, in July 2018 as part of the Federated AI Meeting, FAIM 2018. The 10 revised full papers included in this volume were carefully selected from 15 submissions. They focus on finding efficient solutions to model complex social systems in such areas as economics, management, and organisational and social sciences. In all these areas, agent theories, metaphors, models, analysis, experimental designs, empirical studies, and methodological principles, converge into simulation as a way of achieving explanations and predictions, exploration and testing of hypotheses, better designs and systems.

R1,485 Discovery Miles 14 850 Ships in 18 - 22 working days

This volume presents revised and extended versions of selected papers presented at the Joint Workshop on Multi-Agent and Multi-Agent-Based Simulation, a workshop federated with the 3rd International Joint Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems (AAMAS 2004), which was held in New York City, USA, July 19-23, 2004. The workshop was in part a continuation of the International Workshop on Multi-Agent-Based Simulation (MABS) series. - vised versions of papers presented at the four previous MABS workshops have been published as volumes 1534, 1979, 2581, and 2927 in the Lecture Notes in Arti?cial Intelligence series. The aim of the workshop was to provide a forum for work in both appli- tions of multi-agent-based simulation and the technical challenges of simulating large multi-agent systems (MAS). There has been considerable recent progress in modelling and analyzing multi-agent systems, and in techniques that apply MAS models to complex real-world systems such as social systems and organi- tions. Simulation is an increasingly important strand that weaves together this work. In high-risk, high-cost situations, simulations provide critical cost/bene't leverage, and make possible explorations that cannot be carried out in situ: - Multi-agentapproachestosimulatingcomplexsystemsarekeytoolsinint- disciplinary studies of social systems. R1,447 Discovery Miles 14 470 Ships in 18 - 22 working days

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the Third International Workshop on Multi-Agent-Based Simulation, MABS 2002, held as part of the AAMAS 2002 conference in Bologna, Italy, in July 2002. The 12 revised full papers presented together with an invited paper were carefully selected during two rounds of reviewing and improvement. The papers are organized in topical sections on emergence, alliances, and groups; MABS platforms and languages; and MABS applications.

Scott Moss, Paul Davidsson
R1,485 Discovery Miles 14 850 Ships in 18 - 22 working days

This book is devoted to investigating and developing the synergy between software engineering for multi-agent systems and agent-based social simulation; it originates from the Second International Workshop on Multi-Agend-Based Simulation, MABS 2000, held in Boston, MA, USA in July 2000, in conjunction with ICAMS 2000. Besides the thoroughly revised full papers accepted for presentation at the workshop, two invited papers and an introductory survey by one of the volume editors have been added in order to round off the scope and achieve complete coverage of all relevant topics. The book competently surveys the state of the art in the area by offering topical sections on model design issues, applications, simulating social relations and processes, and formal approaches.

R2,396 Discovery Miles 23 960 Ships in 18 - 22 working days

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Practical Applications of Scalable Multi-Agent Systems, PAAMS 2017, held in Porto, Portugal, in June 2017. The 11 revised full papers, 11 short papers, and 17 Demo papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 63 submissions. The papers report on the application and validation of agent-based models, methods, and technologies in a number of key application areas, including day life and real world, energy and networks, human and trust, markets and bids, models and tools, negotiation and conversation, scalability and resources.
