West London teenager Jess Bhamra (Parminder Nagra) dreams of having a professional football career, even though her parents are determined that she study to be a lawyer. When she is invited by local girl Jules Paxton (Keira Knightley) to join a women's football team, Jess jumps at the chance, and the team's coach Joe (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) is impressed with her abilities. With Jess and Jules on board, the team begins a winning streak which puts them on track for the finals. However, in the face of continued opposition from her family, and after a falling-out with Jules, Jess is forced to reconsider her future in the game.
British comedy horror in which an Indian mother takes her obsession with marriage a little too far. Widow Mrs Sethi (Shabana Azmi) is desperate to see her only daughter, Rupi (Goldy Notay), get married. When Rupi is rudely rejected by a series of suitors, Mrs Sethi resorts to cooking her killer curry in order to bump them off, one by one. But the spirits of her victims soon come back to haunt her as they are unable to be reincarnated until their murderer dies. Mrs Sethi must now kill herself in order to free the spirits, but is determined to get her daughter married off before she enters the afterlife.
Coming-of-age comedy based on the best-selling series of novels by Louise Rennison. The film follows quirky 14-year-old Georgia Nicolson (Georgia Groome) who keeps a journal about the ups and downs of being a teenager. Georgia has two main desires in life: to get a gorgeous boyfriend and to throw the greatest 15th birthday party ever. As well as having to deal with her own problematic life, Georgia must also keep her interfering parents (Alan Davies and Karen Taylor) happy.
