Heading south looking for a warmer climate, Peggy ends up in New
Mexico. The climate reminds her of Nigeria, Africa where she served
as a missionary for six years. In New Mexico it was hot in the
summer, and in the winter cold at night, but warmer during the day.

Having adopted two children in Newfoundland, Canada, Peggy returns
to the States with her husband. In the back woods of northern
Minnesota Peggy buys a forty-acre section of land where she clears
a site near a wilderness pond. One day while she was working out in
the woods it began to rain and she got the idea to build a tool
shed. The tool shed ended up to be an eight by ten foot cabin in
which she lived for a while. Friendship Cabin was built by her
friends with rustic cedar siding and used windows. She didn't mind
living without electricity or running water since she did without
both in Africa, where she was a missionary for six years. The
challenges of splitting wood, hauling drinking water from a
neighbor and melting snow for washing up were met with
determination. When deer, moose and even bear visited the pond
regularly she was inspired to write delightful wild animal stories
that the old and the young alike will enjoy. This tale is
captivating and entertaining.
Adoption gives Peggy a new life. A loving family adopts her at the
age of twelve and everyone is waiting for the adoption to fail.
Accepting the Lord into her heart she decides to attend Bible
College after high school where she hears of a possible position in
Nigeria as a missionary. Later her way leads to Newfoundland &
Labrador where she teaches in a two room school on the coast of
Labrador. Her journey of hope gives her a deeper understanding of
the needs of others.

was right, and put God first in his life. When C.O.P.D got the best
of him he headed south to a drier, warmer climate.
Wally was born in 1938. He grew up in up-state New York where he
worked in the building trades and later in Chicago helping to build
the subway. His life took many dips and turns but he always put God
first in his life. When he couldn't remain in the northern woods of
Minnesota because of failing health he headed south to New Mexico
to a warmer drier climate. This STORY contains many of Wally's
thoughts and sentiments about what was going on in his life.
