This "Good Choices" book allows children to explore moral choices
in a risk-free environment. Each decision leads to more choices as
the story unfolds and, at the end, the reader is given feedback and
advice about the choices they have made and a chance to try again.
Research shows that children experience greater learning from
making poor choices in a risk-free environment than they do when
making good choices and here, they can explore both sides. PREVIEW
(first page): You are in your bedroom which you share with your
younger brother who is four years old. He is out with Dad at the
shops. You are home alone with Mum. Mum is working in her office
and you are in your room playing with your brother's train set. You
are making the best track ever It has three levels, a tunnel,
ramps, and even a train-eating monster. You are connecting the last
piece when it breaks in your hand. You realize that this is a
problem because you forgot to ask permission before playing with
his train set. You are worried that you will get into trouble. You
know that you could hide the broken toy and that no one will ever
find out. You have a choice to make: To hide the broken toy, turn
to page 15. To tell Mum, turn to page 25. To tell your brother,
turn to page 12.
