Nachdem unter dem Begriff "[nformationsmanagement" sowohl von Herstellem von DV-Anlagen und Software-Produkten als auch von einigen Autoren vollig verschiedene Inhalte verstanden werden, wollen wir mit dieser Veroffentlichung versuchen, zur KHirung dieses Begriffes beizutragen. Nach unserer Ansicht sind einige Veroffentlichungen zu diesem Thema sehr stark an der Datenverarbeitungs-Technik ausgerichtet und weniger am Nutzen und Wert des Produktionsfaktors "Information" orientiert. Wir haben daher eine Publikation von Praktikem fiir Praktiker geschrieben. Dabei wird versucht, die theoretischen und praktischen Voraussetzungen fUr kiinftige Losungen zu schaffen, indem zunachst der Begriff "Informationsmanagement" als praktische Arbeitsdefinition festge- schrieben wird. Zusatzlich werden einige Vorteile und das "Rationalisierungs-Potential" des methodischen und praktischen Informationsmanagements aufgezeigt. Dariiber hinaus werden praktikable Moglichkeiten zur EinfUhrung und Fortschreibung des Informations- managements vorgeschlagen und praktikable, methodische Vorgehens- weisen zur EinfUhrung eines wettbewerb-orientierten Informations- managements dargestellt. Wir sind der Ansicht, daB eine konsequente Orientierung des Informations- managements an den Untemehmenszielen erfolgen muB, da die Qualitat der betrieblichen Ziele die Qualitat der betrieblichen Zukunft bestimmt.
