Fur die Loesung komplexer, gesellschaftlicher Herausforderungen sind soziale Innovationen von enormer Bedeutung. In dem Herausgeberband kommen 18 Sozialinnovatoren zu Wort, deren Loesungen eine der folgenden 5 gesellschaftlichen Herausforderungen adressieren: Langzeitarbeitslosigkeit, Bildungsgerechtigkeit, Ressourcenverbrauch, Zivilisationskrankheiten und Fachkraftemangel. Die Sozialinnovatoren erklaren anschaulich, wie ihre sozialen Innovationen funktionieren. Der Herausgeberband soll das Thema "Soziale Innovation" bekannter machen und als Wissensquelle fur (zukunftige) Sozialinnovatoren dienen. Entstanden ist dieser Herausgeberband im Rahmen des vom Bundesministerium fur Bildung und Forschung gefoerderten Forschungsprojektes "Soziale Innovationen in Deutschland".
