An inviting Siddur (Prayer Book) for Evening Kabbalat Shabbat
services and Shabbat Morning services. The book features
easy-to-read Hebrew, transliteration and translation of prayers for
Shabbat. The translations are gender neutral, including references
to the Divine and many Names are used for the One. The words for
many popular liturgical songs are also included. It is a full color
book, large size with large font. There is art on every page,
interesting side notes and tidbits to read at any time. There is an
amazing amount of flexibility (such as Torah service) so that the

A special bedside companion for people of any faith tradition who
are in a care facility. There are sections for different times of
the day as well as special prayers and meditations for events that
might happen in a care facility such as medical procedures. There
is also a section of anytime prayers and meditations. God language
is gender neutral and inclusive. The prayers and meditations are
applicable to both men and women. We hope you will find them
inspiring and powerful. From the FOREWORD: The prayers in this book
were written using gender neutral language with respect to both the
individual praying and to God. I selected the different Names of
the Divine according to the feeling of the prayer; I invite the
reader to substitute a preferred Name as well as to modify any
specific prayer to serve the need of the moment. The prayers were
written from the point of view that the reader is the one praying.
In my research for this book, I was surprised to learn that most
prayers today are written in third person for the patient as well
as in reference to the Divine. These prayers are intended as guides
to facilitate prayer between the patient and God. When God is not
called by Name, God is addressed as You. Especially when one is
ill, a person might experience a profound need to talk in dialogue
with the Divine. These prayers are intended to accommodate such
times and desires. Many years ago, an eleven year old girl whose
mother had just died cried to me that she had no idea how to pray.
I assured her that God did not need any special words, that what
she held in her heart was her prayer, and I was able to guide her
in the moment. I hope that this book will help anyone who is ever
in need of prayer and might benefit from one or more of the prayers
offered in this book. They are intended as a starting point with
the hope that they will aid in opening the heart, mind and spirit
to prayer when it is desired.
