Mia loves all things messy and muddy. Erik likes things
spick-and-span and spotless. Together they enjoy their shared
garden. But when Mia is left to tend the garden without Erik,
nature starts taking over in no time at all! Will he like the wild
meadow that has replaced his lawn? With pollinators and
wildflowers, join Mia as she makes a meadow, sowing seeds of her
own! Also included are pages of facts and illustrations of plants,
pollinators and other insects, which children can use for
'spotting' in the story.
Nature loving Finn's life has been turned upside down by a move to
the city. All he can see are dull, grey buildings. But Grandpa has
a surprise in store: his allotment! By introducing Finn to his
allotment, Finn reconnects with the natural world: he's amazed to
discover a hibernating hedgehog, whom he befriends, and learns to
care for a fox. There is, after all, nature in the city! A
beautifully detailed picture book with a directory of wildlife for
spotting in the story, as well as dedicated hedgehog and fox fact
pages.
Glenn Sestig, born in 1968 in Ghent, Belgium, graduated from the
Henri Van De Velde institute in Antwerp and in 1999 established his
practice. From the outset, his work focused on extreme precision,
on a construction with such mastery of the architectural line,
proportions and perspective that it is easy to forget the careful
consideration that will have gone into his design and creation. In
addition to the material and its interpretation, transparency and
the play of reflection suggest rather than illustrate the endeavors
that have resulted in the real grandeur of some projects, primarily
places for public use.
