Spatial Analysis and Modeling in Geographical Transformation Process - GIS-based Applications (Hardcover, Edition.): Yuji... Spatial Analysis and Modeling in Geographical Transformation Process - GIS-based Applications (Hardcover, Edition.)
Yuji Murayama, Rajesh Bahadur Thapa
R4,384 Discovery Miles 43 840 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

Currently, spatial analysis is becoming more important than ever because enormous volumes of spatial data are available from different sources, such as GPS, Remote Sensing, and others.

This book deals with spatial analysis and modelling. It provides a comprehensive discussion of spatial analysis, methods, and approaches related to human settlements and associated environment. Key contributions with empirical case studies from Iran, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal, and Japan that apply spatial analysis including autocorrelation, fuzzy, voronoi, cellular automata, analytic hierarchy process, artificial neural network, spatial metrics, spatial statistics, regression, and remote sensing mapping techniques are compiled comprehensively. The core value of this book is a wide variety of results with state of the art discussion including empirical case studies.

It provides a milestone reference to students, researchers, planners, and other practitioners dealing the spatial problems on urban and regional issues.

We arepleased to announce that this book has been presented with the 2011 publishing award from the GIS Association of Japan.
We would like to congratulate the authors

Earth Observation Science and Applications for Risk Reduction and Enhanced Resilience in Hindu Kush Himalaya Region - A Decade... Earth Observation Science and Applications for Risk Reduction and Enhanced Resilience in Hindu Kush Himalaya Region - A Decade of Experience from SERVIR (Paperback, 1st ed. 2021)
Birendra Bajracharya, Rajesh Bahadur Thapa, Mir A. Matin
R1,354 R885 Discovery Miles 8 850 Save R469 (35%) Ships in 9 - 17 working days

This open access book is a consolidation of lessons learnt and experiences gathered from our efforts to utilise Earth observation (EO) science and applications to address environmental challenges in the Hindu Kush Himalayan region. It includes a complete package of knowledge on service life cycles including multi-disciplinary topics and practically tested applications for the HKH. It comprises 19 chapters drawing from a decade's worth of experience gleaned over the course of our implementation of SERVIR-HKH - a joint initiative of NASA, USAID, and ICIMOD - to build capacity on using EO and geospatial technology for effective decision making in the region. The book highlights SERVIR's approaches to the design and delivery of information services - in agriculture and food security; land cover and land use change, and ecosystems; water resources and hydro-climatic disasters; and weather and climate services. It also touches upon multidisciplinary topics such as service planning; gender integration; user engagement; capacity building; communication; and monitoring, evaluation, and learning. We hope that this book will be a good reference document for professionals and practitioners working in remote sensing, geographic information systems, regional and spatial sciences, climate change, ecosystems, and environmental analysis. Furthermore, we are hopeful that policymakers, academics, and other informed audiences working in sustainable development and evaluation - beyond the wider SERVIR network and well as within it - will greatly benefit from what we share here on our applications, case studies, and documentation across cross-cutting topics.
