This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the workshops and special session co-located with the 17th International Conference on Practical Applications of Agents and Multi-Agent Systems, PAAMS 2019, held in Avila, Spain, in June 2019. The total of 26 full and 8 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 47 submissions. The book also contains extended abstracts of the doctoral consortium contributions. Over 14,000 children comprised the exodus of unaccompanied minors from Cuba soon after the Cuban Revolution of 1959. I was one of those children, I was one of the youngest at age 6. This is my true story, as told through the eyes of a child. The story is described chronologically, starting with our affluent life in Havana, then upon being exiled, how I wound up at a cloistered convent for orphans where physical abuse was as much a part of the rituals as praying. When authorities closed the convent I was adopted by a large family for many laborious years until my parents escaped from Cuba. Though reunited at last, painfully difficult years followed as we attempted in vain to become a family once again. The many years of separation from my parents and abuse forged the basis for a life of both abandonment and success.

La Organizacion Mundial de la Salud ha considerado que las Infecciones de Transmision Sexual, constituyen a escala mundial la causa de enfermedad mas importante en los hombres en edad sexualmente activa y la segunda causa en las mujeres de los paises en vias de desarrollo. Estas ocupan el primer lugar entre las enfermedades de notificacion obligatoria en nuestro pais, afectando a ambos sexos. Las nuevas infecciones se produce en los jovenes entre 15 - 24 anos de edad, produciendo un incremento significativo del costo para el sistema de salud. Entre las condiciones que favorecen este comportamiento se encuentran los diagnosticos tardios, la no realizacion de tratamiento integral a las parejas sexuales de los casos notificados y diferentes estigmas como el uso inadecuado del condon, unidos a otros factores. Elemento importante lo constituyen las complicaciones que emanan del inadecuado manejo de estas infecciones. En aras de revertir la incidencia de estas enfermedades y sus complicaciones, nos hemos propuesto la generalizacion del Manejo Sindromico de los casos, considerando que este permite el tratamiento inmediato de los pacientes, basados en la utilizacion del metodo clinico."
