This book constitutes the joint refereed proceedings of the 4th International Workshop on Communication Technologies for Vehicles/Trains, Nets4Cars 2012 and Nets4Trains 2012, held in Vilnius, Lithuania, in April 2012. The 4 full papers of the rail track and 11 full papers of the road track presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. They provide an overview over latest technologies and research in the field of intra- and inter-vehicle communications (protocols and standards), mobility and traffic models (models, methodologies, and techniques), testing, and applications.
This book constitutes the joint refereed proceedings of the Third International Workshop on Communication Technologies for Vehicles, Nets4Cars 2011and the First International Workshop on Communication Technologies for Vehicles in the Railway Transportation, Nets4Trains 2011, held in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, in March 2011. The 7 full papers of the rail track and 12 full papers of the road track presented together with a keynote were carefully reviewed and selected from 13 and 21 submissions respectively. They provide an overview over the latest technologies and research in the field of intra- and inter-vehicle communication and present original research results in areas relating to communication protocols and standards, mobility and traffic models, experimental and field operational testing, and performance analysis.
The present book brings together experience, current work, and promising future trends associated with distributed computing, artificial intelligence, and their application in order to provide efficient solutions to real problems. DCAI 2023 is a forum to present applications of innovative techniques for studying and solving complex problems in artificial intelligence and computing areas. This year’s technical program presents both high quality and diversity, with contributions in well-established and evolving areas of research. Specifically, 108 papers were submitted, by authors from 31 different countries representing a truly “wide area network” of research activity. The DCAI’23 technical program has selected 50 full papers in the Special Sessions (ASET, AIMPM, AI4CS, CLIRAI, TECTONIC, PSO-ML, SmartFoF, IoTalentum) and, as in past editions, it will be special issues in ranked journals. This symposium is organized by the LASI and Centro Algoritmi of the University of Minho (Portugal). The authors like to thank all the contributing authors, the members of the Program Committee, National Associations (AEPIA, APPIA), and the sponsors (AIR Institute).

This year's technical program will present both high quality and diversity, with contributions in well-established and evolving areas of research. Specifically, 61 papers were submitted, by authors from 28 different countries representing a truly "wide area network" of research activity. The DCAI'22 technical program has selected 32 full papers and, as in past editions, it will be special issues in ranked journals. This symposium is organized by the University of L'Aquila (Italy). We would like to thank all the contributing authors, the members of the Program Committee and the sponsors (IBM, Indra, Dipartimento di Ingegneria e Scienze dell'Informazione e Matematica dell'Universita degli Studi dell'Aquila, Armundia Group, Whitehall Reply, T.C. Technologies And Comunication S.R.L., LCL Industria Grafica, AIR Institute, AEPIA, APPIA).
This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the First International Conference on Smart Cities, Infrastructures, Technologies and Applications, SCITA 2017, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in November 2017. The 35 revised full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 62 submissions. The papers are grouped in topical sections: infrastructure track, e-governance and transportation track, healthcare track, applications track.
This book constitutes the joint refereed proceedings of the 5th International Workshop on Communication Technologies for Vehicles/Trains, Nets4Cars 2013 and Nets4Trains 2013, held in Vilnius, Lithuania, in May 2013. The 12 full papers of the road track and 5 full papers of the rail track presented together with 3 invited talks were carefully reviewed and selected from 24 submissions. They address topics such as intra-vehicle, inter-vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure communications (protocols and standards), mobility and traffic models (models, methodologies, and techniques), testing, and applications.
The First International ICST Conference on Communications Infrastructure, Systems and Applications in Europe (EuropeComm 2009) was held August 11-13, 2009, in London. EuropeComm 2009 brought together decision makers from the EU comm- sion, top researchers and industry executives to discuss the directions of communi- tions research and development in Europe. The event also attracted academia and industry representatives, as well as government officials to discuss the current dev- opments and future trends in technology, applications and services in the communi- tions field. Organizing this conference was motivated by the fact that the development and - ployment of future services will require a common global-scale infrastructure, and therefore it is important that designers and stakeholders from all the systems stacks come together to discuss these developments. Rapidly decreasing costs of compu- tional power, storage capacity, and communication bandwidth have led to the dev- opment of a multitude of applications carrying an increasingly huge amount of traffic on the global networking infrastructure. What we have seen is an evolution: an inf- structure looking for networked applications has evolved into an infrastructure str- gling to meet the social, technological and business challenges posed by the plethora of bandwidth-hungry emerging applications.
Cone winding is the final stage of spinning and have great significance in the production of high quality yarn. Reduction in the production cost is a biggest challenge faced by the textile Industry of Pakistan now-a-days. Mills today are thus optimally equipped to fulfill the growing demands regarding cost and resource saving processes to meet the quality standards of today's competitive world. The main purpose of detailed Comparative study of technical features of three mostly used automatic cone winders was to suggest and get knowledge of best suited modern automatic cone winder with overall exceptional and superior performance and which can produce high quality final yarn package with maximum productivity and at lower cost with less yarn wastage. The effort was to make a comprehensive comparison of latest models of three brands (Schlafhorst, Murata, and Savio). This book contains some suggestions that how these models can effectively remove all the defects and faults produced at different stages of winding. Higher productivity can be achieved by using these state-of-the-art cone winding machines.
The main purpose of the book is exploring the problems existing with WiMAX cryptographic suit.Book explains the basics of WiMAX and then explains security mechanism of WiMAX MAC layer. Next it explores the Study of authentication and authorization mechanism, functioning in WiMAX IEEE 802.16e using specially designed simulator. In the remaining portion of the book flaws of existing WiMAX cryptographic suit and its solutions are discussed. We designed a special simulator to test our proof that 3DES can replace DES with very minimum changes in cryptographic suit. Introduction of a new and lightweight encryption algorithm MAES in the parallel of AES in the cryptographic suit, to facilitate user of WiMAX having efficient multimedia encryption, is another main purpose of the book. The book also explains the Testing of light weight and efficient MAES on different datasets of text and images. In the last we have mentioned some new research points, which can help the researchers to generate new ideas.
