Two sets of rules for playing American Civil War games with miniatures have been combined into one publication called: Some Wore Blue and Some Wore Gray. These rules are being offered to miniature wargamers of all levels of experience, to other types of gamers and to the general public. Experienced miniature wargamers, being either amateur or professional history buffs, will appreciate a set of rules which not only evolved from rules from the "Golden Age" of miniature wargaming (1955 to 1975) but still maintain both the flavor and the feel of that era. It is hoped that such a set of rules could induce other types of gamers and the general public to try miniature wargaming.
Interview with History: The JFK Assassination looks behind the scenes at some of the most shocking and horrific things going on here in America starting with the daytime assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the implications it serves up to the citizens of a "free country." The author, Pamela Ray, along with James Files, former CIA/Mob hit man, the infamous "grassy knoll shooter" explore the truths behind some basic questions still lingering decades after the JFK assassination: Why was President Kennedy killed? Who benefited? Who had the power to cover it up? And more specifically. Did Lee Harvey Oswald spend time with James Files the week before November 22, 1963? Why? Did Files and Oswald have the same CIA controller, David A. Phillips? Was there a military and CIA presence in Dealey Plaza when the fatal shots were fired? What is the "Military-Industrial-Complex" and why were American citizens warned about it by President Eisenhower in his farewell address to the nation? Are some of the same players from 1963 involved in today's headlines? What does all this indicate? These questions and more will be looked at as Ray and Files discuss the events surrounding the fateful day in Dallas when "a whole new form of government took over." During the course of Interview with History, the authors delve into other related shadowy underworld subjects where it is hard to tell where Organized Crime stops and the CIA (and other U.S. government agencies) begin.
Originally published in 1958, "The Question" is the book that opened the torture debate in France during Algeria's war of independence and was the first book since the eighteenth century to be banned by the French government for political reasons. At the time of his arrest by French paratroopers during the Battle of Algiers in June of 1957, Henri Alleg was a French journalist who supported Algerian independence. He was interrogated for one month. During this imprisonment, Alleg was questioned under torture, with unbelievable brutality and sadism. "The Question" is Alleg's profoundly moving account of that month and of his triumph over his torturers. Jean-Paul Sartre's preface remains a relevant commentary on the moral and political effects of torture on both the victim and perpetrator. This Bison Books edition marks the first time since 1958 that "The Question" has been published in the United States. For this edition Ellen Ray provides a foreword. James D. Le Sueur offers an introduction.
