Why Alyssa? When I first met her, I was intrigued about the whole
female racing thing, for a minute. It's not like she's the first.
Other than that, she seemed - normal. She was cool and all, but not
like Gandhi. Most people want to read a story about someone who had
overcome incredible odds, like Nelson Mandela, Joni Eareckson Tada
or Harriet Tubman. Or they want to read the story of someone who
was wildly successful like Bill Gates or Pat Summit so that they
can emulate their patterns of success. So why read about a regular
ordinary young lady? I found out that she is anything but regular
and she is certainly not ordinary. Right now, you don't know her,
but hopefully you will get to know her through this small book
about her trials, struggles, triumphs, sources of inspiration and
her unwavering faith in God. Alyssa is no less than one of God's
best works of art. As soon as I thought an appropriate metaphor was
to compare her life to a song, she switched up on me and became a
best-selling novel. Sometimes she seemed like a Broadway musical
and then a dance. Often she is the media darling that is the center
of everyone's attention and suddenly, she is the loner and the deep
thinker. Some days she may seem bored and others she can't wait to
see what is going to happen to her next. Alyssa is both predictable
and an enigma and truth be told, so are we all. Well now you are
probably really salivating. But before we get to all of that, let's
look at Alyssa the person. She deserves that; after all she is not
just a story - she is a individual, and...She is a race car driver
Driving the Bus is the Easy Part is a humorous, yet comprehensive
compilation of tips and strategies to aid the student driver in the
art of Student Management. Two days before going to the D.M.V. and
taking my test, one of the trainers took me out for a final ride
and talked to me about student management. You must remember that
my instructor also talked extensively about it in the classroom.
Because of all of the great training I received, I passed the test
with flying colors. So why was I not jumping for joy? I was scared
out of my mind on what I was going to do with those 30 or so faces
looking back at me in the number 7 mirror. This tongue-in-cheek
manual has seven small chapters on what I and others have
experienced while managing students during the safe operation of a
school bus. It talks about what works and what doesn't work. The
aim of this small book is to arm the driver with enough tools to
face a myriad of situations. If only we could put the kids in
suspended animation or in suspended animation while we transported
them to and from school...
An instructional book on implementing a Lean Culture in IT
organizations. Implementing Lean IT. This book introduces the I.T.
Pattern Matching Methodology; classifying I.T. work into Patterns
and matching them with corresponding Lean Tools by: 1) Recognizing
that a manufacturing approach is not an out-of-the-box fit for I.T.
work. 2) Starting a Lean Culture by listening to the voice of the
customer and establishing visual metrics & goals. 3) Giving
voice to your goals by deploying internal marketing campaigns in
order to level-set key stakeholder's expectations. 4) Moving out by
matching specific work with repeatable patterns and lean tools that
reduce waste and establish pull / flow. Is your company currently
implementing Lean manufacturing based on the Toyota Production
System (TPS)? If so, IT and other knowledge work organization may
find themselves in the position of attempting to create a Lean
structure using blueprints intended for operations and production
groups. Many IT professionals have jettisoned their Lean efforts
citing issues related to wasted time and a lack of synergy with the
Lean toolset. A recent internet poll shows that 41% of IT
professions preferred practical examples on how to implement Lean
IT over other tools and management support. The "Lean Tower of IT"
is such a resource. The Pattern Matching Methodology provides
valuable, practical examples of how to start and execute the
creation of your own Lean IT culture.
