A baseball story. Inspired by Leslie "Tex" Aulds, Walt Rothe, and
Ryan Rothe. 1999 was a year unlike any other for Jeff Hartes. He
met the love of his life, experienced surreal, life-like dreams,
and lost so much in a single, Triple-A season of baseball. The
story unfolds with an elderly man remembering that magical season
and sharing with the reader the reality of what baseball's truly
like; the "inside the ropes" atmosphere and "behind the scenes"
superstitions and bedlam. This is a baseball tale that hasn't been
told before, not free from the brutal truths, the comedic
outbursts, and a heart-shattering sadness. Up and down, life
travels sometimes very similar to a baseball season. And comparable
to real life, things don't always go perfectly and end with a
fairy-tale closing.
Why would he deliberately publish novel after novel? Why when he
knew someone close to him would suffer? Or did he know? Did he
truly understand the demons that stir inside him? When Mr. Blacke
speaks... people listen. He is one of the greatest authors of our
time, spinning webs of witty words and fascinating tales. But with
a dire consequence. And when he finally elects to hermit himself
from the outer world, a case of the writer's block strikes. This
forces Mr. Blacke to return to civilization, seeking the
inspiration needed to finish his latest masterpiece, All Roads Lead
to Damascus. But what he finds is more than he bargains for-a muse
worthy of loving. And if history is said to repeat itself, what
lies ahead...
Join Saucir on his quest for flight in the magnificent town of
Waxley. The young, long-haired boy seeks guidance and carries with
him a "never-quit" attitude. After countless negativity and lack of
support, Saucir finds wisdom with the help of a friendly dragon
named Brax. The boy's adventures and teachings feature many valued
morals for young readers. From his daring attempt at flight, not
allowing others to tell him what he can and can't do, to his
inspirational rescue of an injured eagle, Orix, Saucir's vividly
painted tale will remain in the reader's thoughts.
