A Clinical Medical Assistant is a medical professional who performs a variety of functions to assist the physician in providing patient care and to keep the practice running smoothly. While a Clinical Medical Assistant may be required to perform some administrative tasks in a smaller practice, in large practices or facilities he or she will mainly provide services directly related to patient care. Where the Administrative Medical Assistant works mainly in the front desk and reception area of a practice, the Clinical Medical Assistant is often at the physician's side and works in close contact with the patients of the practice. This career is not ideal for everyone. In order to be successful as a Clinical Medical Assistant, one must have certain personality characteristics. First, he or she needs to be compassionate while still maintaining a professional distance. In this job, the assistant will work with people who are frustrated, anxious, tired, sick, and possibly dying. The assistant must have compassion and understanding in order to provide good treatment and to help meet the patients' needs. However, this compassion must be tempered with professional distance to keep the assistant from being overwhelmed by stress and grief. A successful Clinical Medical Assistant must also have a variety of specialized skills to perform this job correctly. He or she must have a good understanding of medical procedures and terminology in order to read and understand patient charts. The assistant must also be able to use the tools and equipment of the job, including stethoscopes, EEG and EKG machines, laboratory equipment, sterilization tools, and more.

The Voice of My Soul - How I Overcame Grief (Paperback): Regina Johnson The Voice of My Soul - How I Overcame Grief (Paperback)
Regina Johnson
R412 Discovery Miles 4 120 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

The Voice of My Soul is a journey through the valleys of 'how life happens' and of overcoming. It is remembering and forgetting. It is about plunging into the depths of devastating grief and the shock caused by losing a son through suicide, to the mountaintop of unspeakable joy at the birth of a first grandchild. The Voice of My Soul is about being shipwrecked by the storms of life and floating to safety on broken pieces of faith. It is a celebration of Womanhood, sisterhood and motherhood. My prayer for all who journey through, The voice of My Soul is that they will discover that no matter how life happens to them, God is more than able to bring them out. If God will not bring you out, God certainly will bring you through. It may be on broken pieces of faith and you may come through limping, but just know that you'll come through much better than when you went in.

Religious Addiction, Mental Health and Spirituality (Paperback): Regina Pinto-Moura, Regina Johnson Religious Addiction, Mental Health and Spirituality (Paperback)

The most destructive Frankenstein was created "in the name of God," among Brazilians in Somerville, Massachusetts. An unhealthy faith system it was established. As a result, many Brazilians may not trust any authority. They are becoming unable to discern who supports their integrity, and who not. Visibly, the mental health of some religious leaders became an issue. The questions that arise at the intersection of faith and mental illness are not easily answered. It is impossible to deny the damage caused by some leaders around the Boston greater area. Faith has been destroyed, lives have been lost and an entire generation has been spiritually, emotionally and psychologically mutilated. This book represents an action to take responsibility before God and the second generation of Brazilians in the United States. In order to understand the reasons behind this process of "deconversion" the challenge is to consider some aspects of religious addictions, mental health and spirituality. The Brazilian community has been diagnosed with a "spiritual tumor." This illness has the potential for causing isolation. Unless addressed, this sense of isolation and unproductive faith can be ongoing. Many of the Brazilians feel that their faith has been stolen, and it's time to take it back. Authentic accountability with each other could be the very thing that re-ignites our passion for Christ and His kingdom. Rev. Dr. Regina Pinto-Moura The Rev. Dr. Regina Pinto-Moura pastors the Shalom International Baptist Community in Somerville, Massachusetts. She also serves side by side with her husband, the Rev. Dr. Jota Moura Rocha. Ordained in Massachusetts in 2003, Regina earned a Masters in Counseling Psychology and Addiction from Cambridge College, Cambridge, MA. She has a Doctorate from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary for her studies in Ministry in Complex Urban Settings.

Abused God (Paperback): Regina Pinto-Moura, Regina Johnson Abused God (Paperback)

This is an incredible book The reader will understand the subject of spiritual abuse among Brazilian religious leaders, around the greater Boston area and how to respond to it in appropriate ways. There are powerful facts behind this book. It projects a powerful voice of passion and conviction. This book offers critical evidence that a significant number of Brazilian leaders have become dysfunctional and abusive. In this context, Rev. Dr. Pinto-Moura reports that the World Revival Church (hereafter WRC) is an example of a dysfunctional culture producing codependence. They seem to continually strive with combined elements of unbalanced and unorthodox doctrines, controversial government, disciplinary problems, irresponsible leadership - which result in explosive turmoil, division, wounded and confused sheep, and a derogatory reputation in their community. There are scores of people who have been deeply wounded by their experience with WRC. Religious addiction is identified and attacked as a part of this problem. It has been enormously traumatic. This book exposes this complex issue balancing facts with compassion. Developing a healing approach is needed. This supportive data is the result of scholarly studies and truths from the Bible. It substantiates a biblical response to the challenge to bring spiritual health to the Brazilian churches in the U.S. This book addresses healing strategies and explores possible solutions to the demoralizing problem of spiritual abuse. This book is revolutionary, prophetic and apostolic The healing guidelines can be applied to any ministry and person experiencing the pain of leadership abuse. Rev. Dr. Regina Pinto-Moura is married with Apostle Jota Moura. They lead the Shalom International Baptist Community. She is ordained by The American Baptist Churches in Massachusetts. She has her Masters in Counseling Psychology and Addiction from Cambridge College. Her Doctorate is from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary for her studies in Ministry in Complex Urban Settings.
