The Memorial Book of Brzeziny, Poland is the English translation of
the Yizkor (Memorial) Book published in Yiddish in 1961 by
survivors and former residents of the town. It details through
personal accounts the town, its history, personalities,
institutions and the ultimate destruction of the Jewish community
by the Nazis and their Polish collaborators in World War II. This
publication by the "Yizkor Books in Print Project" of JewishGen,
Inc., serves to provide the English speaking community with these
first-hand accounts in book format, so that researchers and
descendants of Jewish emigrants from the town can learn this
history. 468 pages with Illustrations. Hard Cover

You're the clump of blackened spruce that lights my gasoline-soaked
heart It's just impossible you won't be back to quench yourself in
my creme-soda ancestral spirit Irreverent and transcendent, lyrical
and slang, Heating the Outdoors is an endlessly surprising new work
from award-winning poet Marie-AndrĂŠe Gill. In these micropoems,
writing and love are acts of decolonial resilience. Rooted in
Nitassinan, the territory and ancestral home of the Ilnu Nation,
they echo the Ilnu oral tradition in her interrogation and
reclamation of the language, land, and interpersonal intimacies
distorted by imperialism. They navigate Gill's interior
landscapeâof heartbreak, humor, and, ultimately, unrelenting
lightâamidst the boreal geography. Heating the Outdoors describes
the yearnings for love, the domestic monotony of post-breakup
malaise, and the awkward meeting of exes. As the lines between
interior and exterior begin to blur, Gill's poems, here translated
by Kristen Renee Miller, become a record of the daily rituals and
ancient landscapes that inform her identity not only as a lover,
then ex, but also as an Ilnu and Quebecoise woman.
This collection of thoughtful reflections looks at events and
activities of everyday life and discovers routes to spiritual
practice and deeper, daily spirituality. At the behest of CREDO
Institute, Inc., which hosts health and wellness conferences and is
supported by the Episcopal Church Pension Fund, priest and CREDO
conference leader Renee Miller wrote the 20 reflections and grouped
them into the categories: Meditative Practice, Ministry Practice,
Media Practice, Mind Practice, and Movement Practice. Each entry,
accented with color photographs, is aimed at evoking mindfulness in
the common activities of life, from music and movie going to
reading, writing, and walking.
For the reader who wishes to use the book to introduce or more
deeply explore spiritual practices with other people or in an
instructional setting, each chapter concludes with a nod toward who
might be inclined to certain practices, based on individual
predilections or personality.
The Foreword by Brian Taylor lays out the theological
underpinnings of spiritual discipline in what could stand alone as
a primer on spiritual practice. "

A cocaine drug dealing gangster and a woman priest enter into a
relationship that leads both of them into intrigue, betrayal, and
redemption. The unorthodox style of the priest takes her into the
world of rugged ghetto life and there she finds something more
powerful than the sure and certain principles she had thought were
so real. What she finds is the reality of sacred love; a love she
thought she had touched in the Church, but which is finally made
truly real in the presence of the gangster with whom she has shared
her soul.
