Thy Work Of Art Thy work of art... from the start thy work of art had a cart of possessions that may seem a scrap to one's eye's yet a value of work that is thy one's art... so what is art... was it yet art from the start or a process of one's mind processing jig saw pieces that fit to complete.. Thy art... thy art that had to click to set another piece to conjecture a wide view of was once.. a close up of thy one's work of art... step back ... aside from one view... prospect a second view... even a third... art from one's eyes.. see the eye of another.. to another... to just make thy one's work.. a piece of art... be the eye of the be holder... say it to be so .... When students are in elementary school, a teacher who has expertise in teaching the fundamentals of reading instructs them. At the middle and high school level that stops - and the timing could not be worse. The literacy demands increase exponentially, yet typically schools do not teach adolescents how to successfully read the increasingly difficult materials they encounter throughout their day. As the rigor increases in their classes, student coping skills become less effective. Consequently, the achievement gap becomes wider and more difficult to close during the adolescent years. When it comes time to prescribe an intervention, middle and high school teachers are hitting a wall. Decoding and comprehension materials are often presented at an elementary level. The students feel bad enough that they struggle with reading; assigned 'baby work' increases the stigma. This book addresses the need for 6-12 teachers to have appropriate literacy intervention materials to use with struggling adolescent readers. This book will also help teachers learn how to support any adolescent reader-struggling or not-when they encounter challenging text. The book features two strands: decoding and comprehension. Each strand contains lessons, materials, a difficulty dial, tips for implementation and student samples.

The Mickey Stories is a collection of short stories about an affable young man making his way thru life and doing his best. The first two stories find Mickey, who has just broken up with another in a string of women who failed to recognize his strengths and value. His softball team turns into a ski trip in the winter and Jackson Hole Wyoming is portrayed as the best skiing in the United States with a European flair. But the sacred all male ski trip is in peril as the Coach's wife wants in and the mumblings of "no women " breaks down under her gaze, for she really wants to go. Gangster Rappers, strong arm robbery and the life of a photographer will amuse and entertain as Mickey follows music managers and brides, money and mayhem.
