instruction Coverage of programming and shell scripting,
demonstrated through example code in several popular languages
Updated information on modern IT careers Computer networks,
including more content on cloud computing Improved coverage of
computer security Ancillary material that includes a lab manual for

Computing provides a comprehensive introduction to networks and the
Internet from several perspectives: the underlying media, the
protocols, the hardware, the servers, and their uses. The material
in the text is divided into concept chapters that are followed up
with case study chapters that examine how to install, configure,
and secure a server that offers the given service discussed. The
book covers in detail the Bind DNS name server, the Apache web
server, and the Squid proxy server. It also provides background on
those servers by discussing DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, digital
certificates and encryption, web caches, and the variety of
protocols that support web caching. Introductory networking
content, as well as advanced Internet content, is also included in
chapters on networks, LANs and WANs, TCP/IP, TCP/IP tools, cloud
computing, and an examination of the Amazon Cloud Service. Online
resources include supplementary content that is available via the
textbook's companion website, as well useful resources for faculty
and students alike, including: a complete lab manual; power point
notes, for installing, configuring, securing and experimenting with
many of the servers discussed in the text; power point notes;

The Protector is back. Mickey Bale must hunt down military-grade
warheads in this gripping British thriller from Anthony Riches.
Former close protection officer Mickey Bale has a dangerous
skillset. One that many men, good and bad, want to make use of.
That's why a powerful oligarch wants to hire Mickey to protect him.
And with his wife gone and his track record with the Met in
tatters, Mickey doesn't have a choice. But when a terrorist attack
kills a police firearms team, MI5 suspect that Mickey's new client
and the Russian GRU are involved. The bomb was a military-grade
Sunburn missile warhead. And there are more warheads out there.
Blackmailed by MI5 into spying on the client he was hired to
protect, Mickey is pushed to his limits by his new double-agent
status. If he doesn't locate the other warheads, thousands of
civilians will die - and time is running out... Reviews for Anthony
Riches: 'An utterly compelling read' Manda Scott 'The Bill meets
Jack Reacher' The Times 'A full-throttle adventure that twists and
turns' Andy McNab

This book discusses the implications arising from the authors' research into what constitutes an effective teacher of literacy. They have been able to identify what effective teachers know, understand and do which enable them to put effective teaching of literacy into practice in the primary phase. By identifying the strategies used by these teachers, the authors show how these can be applied by other primary teachers to improve their teaching of literacy.

Entertainment media now comprise one of the world's largest
industries, yet they remain one of the least studied aspects of
contemporary mass media. Every day hundreds of millions of people
watch television programs that might broadly be described as
'entertainment', notably in the rapidly developing countries of
Asia. However we still have little idea of what drives the
production of Asian entertainment television, how audiences engage
with television or how political and social elites understand the
impact of television on the massive audiences. While India and
China have attracted recent media attention, Indonesia has remained
largely unnoticed. As Indonesia has the largest Muslim population
in the world, is engaged in rapid modernization and the transition
to democracy in significant part through the mass media, serious
attention is long overdue. The topics covered include: talent
shows, crime and supernatural Reality TV, travel programmes, talent
quests and popular music This book, with contributions from
recognized experts on Indonesian media, is therefore of particular
importance not just for explaining what is going on in Indonesian
popular television, but also for establishing a theoretical
framework for the study of entertainment media in other societies.
The collection is essential for anyone wishing to know about
entertainment media, Asian television and contemporary approaches
to the study of Asian mass and popular media.
The Doctor, Mel and Hebe are reunited – but Purity's temporal
meddling has altered history as they know it. To make matters
worse, whatever is left of the being once known as Patricia McBride
is still intent on fulfilling her grand design for humanity.
Contains three new adventures; 4.1 Girl in a Bubble by Jacqueline
Rayner. The TARDIS arrives in Hebe’s flat but it’s not how the
Doctor and Mel remember it – and neither is Hebe! In Purity's new
timeline, Hebe Harrison lives in a grand penthouse with armed
guards and a live-in factotum – Ron! – and if she ever leaves
her sanctuary... the world will end. Are these strangers the ones
who have been sending her messages? And can this reality be undone
without losing Hebe forever? 4.2 The Corruptions by Mark Wright.
Melanie Bush is a popular part of the Pease Pottage village
community, and her best friend Hebe runs the local café where
Elise the florist often drops by. Elsewhere, the Doctor is trapped
in a nightmarish realm – Pease Pottage Services – unable to
cross the boundary of the motorway where shadowy creatures drift
amid the traffic. Purity is watching, and if the Doctor attempts to
rescue his friends... they will cease to exist. 4.3 The Wrong Side
of History by Robert Valentine. Mel, Hebe and Elise find themselves
inside a plastic bubble-city in a distant future of humanity where
robotic ‘Purifiers’ police the sickly populace. Purity rules
this antiseptic nightmare from her high tower, and with the Doctor
as her unwilling new helper, she can finally make everything...
perfect. CAST: Colin Baker (The Doctor), Bonnie Langford (Melanie
Bush), Ruth Madeley (Hebe Harrison), Imogen Stubbs (Purity /

This volume offers insights into the current 'public-square'
debates on Indian Christianity. Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork
as well as rigorous analyses, it discusses the myriad histories of
Christianity in India, its everyday practice and contestations and
the process of its indigenisation. It addresses complex and
pertinent themes such as Dalit Indian Christianity, diasporic
nationalism and conversion. The work will interest scholars and
researchers of religious studies, Dalit and subaltern studies,
modern Indian history, and politics.
