I married Diana because she was an exciting, reckless witch of a
woman. And it didn't hurt that she had all that money. I also loved
her, even though a kind of pall of violence hung around her.
Diana's men had a way of dying. One night of our honeymoon I awoke
in the dark and discovered we had company. You might have called
him sudden death, judging from the gun he was pointing at my
stomach. It looked as if I was third on her list...
I picked up a copy of the L.A. Times and turned to "Help Wanted."
It came out and slapped me in the face, a big box advertisement:

Ever since Prince Charles' famous "carbuncle" criticism of the
extension to the National Gallery architecture has received ever
increasing attention. This book provides an introduction to
contemporary architecture for students, interested general readers
and professional architects. It explains the current major debates
in architecture, profiles the key people involved in these debates
with reference to particular examples of their work and sets out
the key architectural movements influencing what we see being built
today. The book is written with the non-expert in mind, introducing
architecture through its achievements and its problems, its
buildings and practitioners.
Clinics in Developmental Medicine No. 163
Children with craniosynostosis are born with congenital
deformities of the face and skull. In severe cases associated
problems are common. The child who is not properly cared for can
end up blind, deaf and with severe learning difficulties. In
addition, they may be left with unacceptable facial deformities.
Outside specialized craniofacial units, there is at present nowhere
for those involved in primary or secondary care to go for help with
the many practical problems that these children present. In this
book, a distinguished team of editors have assembled experts in the
field to introduce the non-craniofacial specialist to what can be
achieved and how they can contribute to the child's welfare. It
will be essential reading for paediatricians seeking practical
information about the management of these disorders, and for
specialists in neurosurgery, ENT, ophthalmology, plastic surgery,
maxillo-facial surgery, orthodontics, psychology, genetics,
anaesthesia, audiology and speech therapy.
