Die heutigen digitalen Mobilfunkstandards (zweite Generation der mobilen Telekommunikation) basieren auf Schmalbandtechniken, die entwickelt wurden, um die elementaren Anforderungen an Sprach- und Datendiensten abdecken zu konnen.
