This book is based on the authors' 100-plus years of experience as
engineers and provides students with practical knowledge of what to
expect as they enter the engineering field with a career in mind.
Besides students, it will also serve as a practical guide for
guidance counselors and recent engineering graduates, and contains
topics infrequently found in other introductory engineering texts
such as mentoring, interviewing, intellectual property, and how to
navigate the variety of career choices. Every chapter contains a
recommended reading list for additional information, and most
chapters include problem-solving tasks that help students master
the topic. * Focuses heavily on the fields of engineering, the
career opportunities in each, and the skills needed once students
are on the job. * Designed for the introductory high school and
college freshman-level course on careers in Engineering. * There
are several appendices, which include sample reports,
presentations, test plans, and other examples of skills employees
will use on the job. Raymond Floyd worked as an engineer and
manager at IBM for 30 years, which included programming support for
NASA's Apollo Program and the Department of Defense's
Anti-Ballistic Missile Program. Prior to IBM, he worked as a Senior
Instructor in Philco's Computer Division. He is currently an
Adjunct Professor at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming,
developing and teaching courses in engineering, mathematics,
computer systems, and programming. His undergraduate and Masters
degrees are from Florida Atlantic University, and his Ph.D. is from
California Coast University. He is also a graduate of the IBM
Systems Research Institute. Richard Spencer worked as a Senior
Human Factors Engineer at IBM for over 30 years, where he focused

The best photo assignments from the Monocle archive, published to
mark the magazine's fifteenth anniversary. Back in 2007 the first
issues of Monocle magazine hit newsstands and kiosks around the
globe. At its core was a pledge to commission all original
photography - capturing the world on film, on the ground and in the
moment. The cover of that first issue featured a Japanese
helicopter pilot from the country's defence force - taken as part
of a 10-day reportage assignment for both photographer and writer.
In the years since, Monocle has continued in its pursuit of
documenting the world through its unique lens - from embassies and
residences to world leaders and cultural stars. Each issue has
featured a dedicated photographic Expo section celebrating
lesser-known locales, obscure events and curious characters through
truly outstanding photography. Alpine wrestlers, Syrian outposts,
French legionnaires, noodle-makers, game show hosts and private
member's clubs have all graced the pages. The Monocle Book of
Photography draws on the best of these photographic stories from an
archive a decade and a half in the making. A handsome linen bound
edition with the highest quality gloss paper and printing, the book
also features supporting text about the photo assignments and the
stories behind them, including first hand accounts from the
photographers involved.

The purpose of this book is to awaken the church in this country to
see that God is calling for a radical change of heart that will
result in entering into the reality of being the body and the bride
of Christ. Inspired by the centurion in Matthew and Luke's Gospels,
the book uses an analogy of the practices of armies since Roman
times with God's plan for his church in the cosmic war against the
forces of evil. The book shows the absolute need for churches and
individuals to prioritise receiving and obeying their particular
stream of orders from the Commander-in-Chief. Then Jesus will be
able to lead us as a regular army (and not just as guerrilla
fighters) in a major campaign that will be revival!
This book is a record of a conversation between Jesus and part of
his bride - one local church. We will follow this conversation over
a number of years as he revealed more and more of his vision for
his church. He said to the man who would be the first among the
first apostles, "I will build my church", and we will follow how he
has been building us into the community that he wants us to be.
