Christ commanded the church to make disciples, to produce people
who love and obey God, bear fruit, and live with joy. The crisis at
the heart of the church is that we often pay lip service to making
disciples, but we seldom put much effort behind doing it. For the
pastor who is ready to put words into action, The Disciple-Making
Pastor offers the inspiration and practical know-how to do so. Bill
Hull shows pastors the obstacles they will face, what disciples
really look like, the pastor's role in producing them, and the
practices that lead to positive change. He also offers a six-step
coaching process to help new disciples grow in commitment and
obedience and practical ideas to integrate disciple making into the
fabric of the church.
Prognostic and Predictive Factors in Gynecologic Oncology takes
a fresh look at a critical aspect of cancer treatment planning. An
international team of authors reviews the traditional prognostic
and predictive factors such as tumor grade, histologic subtype, and
grade and then goes a step further to review the growing number of
molecular discoveries that have increasing clinical significance.
The book is organized into comprehensive sections on ovarian,
endometrial and cervical cancer and includes up to date reviews,
newly discovered molecular pathways, genetic markers, molecular
imaging techniques, and their relevance to clinical medicine.
Prognostic and Predictive Factors in Gynecologic Oncology is
illustrated with over 100 figures and is essential reading for
oncologists, translational and basic scientists, as well as
fellows, residents and students with a special interest in
gynecologic oncology.
Question: What is the God-given purpose of the local church?
Answer: Relational discipleship. DiscipleShift walks you through
five key "shifts" that churches must make to refocus on the
fundamental biblical mission of discipleship. These intentional
changes will attract the world and empower your church members to
be salt and light in their communities. Over the last thirty years,
many influential church leaders and church planters in America have
adopted various models for reaching unchurched people. While many
of these approaches have merit, something is still missing,
something even more fundamental to the mission of the church:
discipleship. Making disciples-helping people to trust and follow
Jesus-is the church's God-given mandate. Devoted disciples attract
people outside the church because of the change others see in their
Christ-like lives. And discipleship empowers Christians to be more
like Christ as they intentionally develop relationships with
non-believers. Through biblical and professional insights, Jim
Putman and Bobby Harrington discuss the transformational
effectiveness of making disciples and just how to do so, in
practical terms. You'll learn: The specific roles of a
disciple-making pastor. The components of person-to-person
discipleship. How each ministry in your church leads to
discipleship. How to implement discipleship in your church.
Disciple-making leaders will not produce perfect churches, but they
will create effective churches.
More meets Christians where they're at, acknowledging the roots of
their discontent and demonstrating how to move from inspiration and
desire into action. Church strategist and ministry activator Todd
Wilson shows how all believers can live more abundant lives around
the uniqueness of how they were made and what they are called to
do. Introducing a memorable vocabulary and an easy-to-use practical
framework, More equips readers to embark on a journey of
discovering their unique personal calling. It enables readers to
answer three of the most important and profound questions we all
naturally ask. (1) Who am I created to be? (2) What am I created to
do? (3) Where am I to be best positioned to do it? The integrated
answers to these key questions-the BE-DO-GO of a person's
life-represent the core dimensions of personal calling. Inspiring
and challenging, More gives readers permission and encouragement to
engage in the journey God has solely for them.

This joint reissue comprises two works on military medicine,
providing instruction on the treatment of ailments common to
soldiers, and methods for preventing their occurrence. The title
work, written by Charles Alexander Gordon (1821-99) and published
in 1873, is followed by A Guide to Health for the Use of Soldiers
by fellow surgeon R. C. Eaton (1842-1902), which first appeared in
1890. Intended to be read by infantrymen and officers, both works
offer succinct and practical advice on topics ranging from malaria
to drunkenness. The texts take slightly different approaches in
their presentation of advice: Gordon adopts a crisp and formal
style, while Eaton incorporates instructive medical facts in his
brief yet fluent explanations. Together, the works provide an
effective exposition of problems and practicalities that would
assume tremendous significance decades later in the trenches of the
First World War.
