Triple bill featuring the original 1989 film along with the 2000
sequel and 2008 prequel. In 'The Little Mermaid' (1989), Ariel
(voice of Jodi Benson) is the mermaid daughter of King Triton
(voice of Kenneth Mars), and lives beneath the waves. However,
Ariel longs to see the world above, especially after rescuing a
handsome prince from drowning. To this end she makes a deal with
sea witch Ursula (voice of Pat Carroll) to live above the sea in
exchange for her beautiful singing voice. Ariel soon regrets her
decision, however, when it transpires that her father's kingdom is
at risk. In 'The Little Mermaid II - Return to the Sea' (2000),
Ariel (voice of Benson) and Eric (voice of Rob Paulsen) have had a
baby daughter, Melody (voice of Tara Strong), but the threat of
reprisal from Ursula's sister Morgana (voice of Carroll) means that
they must keep the girl in the dark about her mermaid heritage.
However, to be a mermaid is what Melody wants most and her dreams
of the sea soon find her playing into the evil Morgana's hands. To
set things right, Ariel must team up with her old chums Sebastian
(voice of Samuel E. Wright), Flounder (Cam Clarke) and Scuttle
(voice of Buddy Hackett) and embark upon a daring rescue mission.
Finally, in 'The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Beginning' (2008), Ariel
(voice of Benson) finds herself torn between her love of music and
her family duty. With the help of her friends, Sebastian (voice of
Wright) and Flounder (voice of Parker Goris), and her six sisters,
Ariel sets about to try and restore music, friendship and love to
the Kingdom of Atlantica.
Title: Valentine and Orson. A new burlesque drama in two acts and
in verse].Publisher: British Library, Historical Print EditionsThe
British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom. It
is one of the world's largest research libraries holding over 150
million items in all known languages and formats: books, journals,
newspapers, sound recordings, patents, maps, stamps, prints and
much more. Its collections include around 14 million books, along
with substantial additional collections of manuscripts and
historical items dating back as far as 300 BC.The POETRY &
DRAMA collection includes books from the British Library digitised
by Microsoft. The books reflect the complex and changing role of
literature in society, ranging from Bardic poetry to Victorian
verse. Containing many classic works from important dramatists and
poets, this collection has something for every lover of the stage

The Christian movement is entering a new postcolonial era with
centers of the faith on all continents. American Christians have
often felt uniquely qualified to lead this growing movement because
of a long history of sending missionaries and funding mission
projects. Yet something is hampering the relationship between
Western and non-Western churches, preventing the dynamic synergism
that Christians might expect. Roots and Remedies of the Dependency
Syndrome in World Missions, Robert Reese identifies this hindrance
as the Dependency Syndrome, a relic of colonial mission methods.
With three decades of experience in Zimbabwe, Reese explains the
roots of dependency and how this continues to cloud the vision of
many well-meaning Western Christians. He documents the tragic
results of relying too much on foreign ideas, institutions,
personnel, and funding that sideline non-Western churches from
fulfilling the Great Commission. Reese addresses remedies for
dependency, examining healthy mission models tried and tested since
the days of the apostle Paul. From issues that arise from
globalization to best mission practices in the twenty-first
century, Roots and Remedies aims to achieve what most Christians
are seeking but find elusive: how all parts of the diverse Body of
Christ around the world can cooperate productively to bring Christ
where He is not now known without creating dependency.
Finite State Machine Datapath Design, Optimization, and
Implementation explores the design space of combined FSM/Datapath
implementations. The lecture starts by examining performance issues
in digital systems such as clock skew and its effect on setup and
hold time constraints, and the use of pipelining for increasing
system clock frequency. This is followed by definitions for latency
and throughput, with associated resource tradeoffs explored in
detail through the use of dataflow graphs and scheduling tables
applied to examples taken from digital signal processing
applications. Also, design issues relating to functionality,
interfacing, and performance for different types of memories
commonly found in ASICs and FPGAs such as FIFOs, single-ports, and
dual-ports are examined. Selected design examples are presented in
implementation-neutral Verilog code and block diagrams, with
associated design files available as downloads for both Altera
Quartus and Xilinx Virtex FPGA platforms. A working knowledge of
Verilog, logic synthesis, and basic digital design techniques is
required. This lecture is suitable as a companion to the synthesis
lecture titled Introduction to Logic Synthesis using Verilog HDL.

This open access book explores the emotional agency of images in
the construction of 'humanitarian crises' from the nineteenth
century to the present. Using the prism of the histories of
emotions and the senses, the chapters examine the pivotal role
images have in shaping cultural, social and political reactions to
the suffering of others and to the establishment of the
international networks of solidarity. Questioning certain emotions
assumed to underlie humanitarianism such as sympathy, empathy and
compassion, they demonstrate how the experience of such emotions
has shifted over time. Understanding images as emotional objects,
contributors from a wide horizon of disciplines explore how their
production, circulation and reception has been crucial to the
perception of humanitarian crises in a long-term historical
perspective.
