The East African Campaign through a British Army Doctor's eyes The
author of this book-a practicing doctor in the British Army-had
already served on the Western Front in the early months of the
Great War and had actually become a P. O. W. at the hands of the
German enemy. Now in the East African Campaign he explains-in
writings originally intended for his own family-every aspect of war
in this little reported theatre. We learn about the movements of
troops and battle actions, but also of the character of troops from
many countries and of the African tribes who fought for each side.
We hear of the trials of the motor transport men-dodging ambush and
wild animals equally-and of the adventures of the "behind the
lines" intelligence gatherers living thrilling and dangerous lives
in the bush. Finally we are shown the difficulties of keeping men
healthy and the problems of saving lives under the most arduous
conditions. This is an unusual and interesting perspective on war
from a medical man in Africa.
A second series of adventures from Big Finish begins, featuring
Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor. Time and again, the
Doctor finds himself returning to his favourite planet. Dropping in
on history or the present-day, whether it's kings, commuters or
ordinary people, he's never met anyone who wasn't important... 1.1
Station to Station by Robert Valentine. A deserted railway platform
can be the loneliest place on Earth. But when Saffron is stranded
at Underbridge station, she meets echoes of the past - and a fellow
lost traveller. And the Doctor knows that something is hunting
them... 1.2 The False Dimitry by Sarah Grochala. Moscow: 1605: the
old Tsar is dead - but some blame unnatural forces. Perhaps the
mysterious Doctor in the palace can help? A successor advances on
the Kremlin with an army, preparing the country for war. But
Tsarevich Dimitry is not what he seems... 1.3 Auld Lang Syne by Tim
Foley. Every December, Mandy Litherland gathers the family at
Foulds House to see in the New Year. Not everyone appreciates her
efforts. At least the caretaker seems friendly - if a little weird.
Mandy hopes she'll see him again next year - but perhaps she
already has... CAST: Christopher Eccleston (The Doctor), Alexander
Arnold (Dimitry Ivanovich), Sean Baker (Witherow), John Banks (Tsar

These tales take the Tenth Doctor, Anya Kingdom and Mark Seven
deeper into family histories, aboard the strangest of space
stations and to a truth that might tear them apart. 2.1 Cycle of
Destruction by Roy Gill. After Mark starts behaving oddly, the
Doctor and Anya find themselves on a strange planet with their
friend missing. Searching for him they find their way to an
isolated research base. The corridors show signs of animal
incursions and the scientists are behaving strangely. But a big
surprise is waiting for them. Because this is where Mark Seven came
from. Theyâre about to find out who he is. But is that
information too dangerous to know? 2.2 The Trojan Dalek by John
Dorney. The Doctor, Mark and Anya head for an SSS space-station
searching for the missing temporal scientist, Arborecc. But the
officer in charge denies all knowledge of his presence and demands
their departure. Unwilling to leave so easily, the group split up
to investigate⌠and uncover a heinous plot involving the
Doctorâs oldest foes. Or do they? 2.3 The Lost by Rob Valentine.
When the Doctorâs latest scheme to get back to the future fails,
the teamâs ship crashes on a strange world, potentially trapping
them for ever. Searching for replacement parts, they find their way
to a building where heart-breakingly familiar faces await them.
Lies are about to be exposed. Everyone will learn the truth. And
nothing will be the same again. This boxset contains all three
