This book provides a comparison and practical guide of the data
protection laws of Canada, China (Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan), Laos,
Philippines, South Korea, United States and Vietnam. The book
builds on the first book Data Protection Law. A Comparative
Analysis of Asia-Pacific and European Approaches, Robert Walters,
Leon Trakman, Bruno Zeller. As the world comes to terms with
Artificial Intelligence (AI), which now pervades the daily lives of
everyone. For instance, our smart or Iphone, and smart home
technology (robots, televisions, fridges and toys) access our
personal data at an unprecedented level. Therefore, the security of
that data is increasingly more vulnerable and can be compromised.
This book examines the interface of cyber security, AI and data
protection. It highlights and recommends that regulators and
governments need to undertake wider research and law reform to
ensure the most vulnerable in the community have their personal
data protected adequately, while balancing the future benefits of
the digital economy.
This book develops valuable new approaches to digital out-of-home
media and digital signage in urban environments. It offers
solutions for communicating interactive features of digital signage
to passers-by. Digital out-of-home media and digital signage
screens are becoming increasingly interactive thanks to touch input
technology and gesture recognition. To optimize their conversion
rate, interactive public displays must 1) attract attention, 2)
communicate to passers-by that they are interactive, 3) explain the
interaction, and 4) provide a motivation for passers-by to
interact. This book highlights solutions to problems 2 and 3 above.
The focus is on whole-body interaction, where the positions and
orientations of users and their individual body parts are captured
by specialized sensors (e.g., depth cameras). The book presents
revealing findings from a field study on communicating
interactivity, a laboratory on analysing visual attention, a field
study on mid-air gestures, and a field study on using mid-air
gestures to select items on interactive public displays.
Find everything you need to master tooth preparation, prostheses,
and restorations! Contemporary Fixed Prosthodontics, 6th Edition
provides a solid foundation in basic science as well as
step-by-step guidelines to hundreds of fixed prosthodontic
procedures. Using more than 3,500 high-quality drawings and
photographs, this complete reference walks you through each step of
patient care, from diagnosis and planning to prosthesis fabrication
and follow-up care. Separate sections on planning and preparation,
clinical procedures, and laboratory procedures make it easier to
look up the information you need. This edition covers the latest
advances in CAD/CAM technologies and adds new content on minimally
invasive prosthodontic procedures through preventive, adhesive, and
implant dentistry. From respected prosthodontics educators and

featuring a fully searchable version of the entire text.
Illustrated, full-color step-by-step procedures walk you through
all the steps of treatment from the beginning to the final
treatment result. Summary charts provide a quick, at-glance review
of specific procedures (such as Class II inlay preparation and
ceramic crown preparation), highlighting the indications,
contraindications, advantages, disadvantages, preparation steps,
recommended armamentarium, and criteria. Prosthodontic Diagnostic
Index helps you determine the appropriate treatments for completely
edentulous, partially edentulous, and dentate patients, using
guidelines and illustrations from the American College of
Prosthodontists. Text boxes accompany selected illustrations,
presenting quick facts and tips relating to techniques or concepts.
Study questions at the end of each chapter offer an opportunity to
test your knowledge and comprehension. An enhanced eBook is
included with each new print purchase, featuring a fully searchable
version of the entire text, images, and more! NEW! Updated and new
content includes minimally invasive prosthodontic procedures, tooth
preparation for adhesive indirect restorations, implant dentistry
and ceramic restorations, clinical photography and digital smile
design, risk assessment, and assessment of patients with sleep
disorders. NEW full-color photos and drawings enhance your
understanding of each topic, and show the newest instruments and
equipment. NEW! Advances in technology are broken down into their
underlying principles and then integrated into the text, rather
than including a single chapter with step-by-step CAD/CAM
procedures that might soon be out of date.
There is increasing regulatory interdependence amongst Central,
East and South East Asian, European and North American financial
markets, and these markets account for over one-third of the
world's population and global financial markets. As Asian markets
become more integral to global financial economy, more cohesive,
compatible and integrated insolvency and restructuring laws are
essential. This two-volume work reviews why we should
internationalise current cross-border insolvency and how we could
restructure laws to address inadequacies. The two volumes evaluate
international regulatory reforms directed at detecting and managing
cross-border insolvency and restructuring crises across the entire
economy including financial markets. The authors call for schemes
of arrangements and letters of comfort to be formally accepted as
international legal tools. The work also assesses recent, but as
yet largely unregulated developments in financial agreements,
particularly the use of close-out netting provisions that serve as
significant protective mechanisms prior to the declaration of an
insolvency. It discusses international arbitration, data protection
and artificial intelligence in crossborder insolvency and
restructuring. Finally, the book seeks a meaningful balance between
self-regulation through financial contracts and other party
practices, and regulation imposed by governments and international
financial regulators. This extensive work will be a useful
reference for legal practitioners, policy makers and scholars
working on financial regulation and international financial laws.

The book has been authored by a highly regarded international legal
scholar in commercial and private law. The book highlights
how the legal landscape for in data protection, cross-border data
flows and cybersecurity law is highly diverse and fragmented
amongst all commonwealth countries. The book focuses on addressing
the gaps in data, cybersecurity and national arbitration law of
these countries. The aim of this book is to promote more engagement
between commonwealth countries, to ensure they capitalise on the
growing digital economy.    Notwithstanding
the above, the digital economy is rapidly changing the way we work
and live. When coupled together cybersecurity and data law will be
an important component of the future digital economy. They will
both be integral to transnational trade and investment. That said,
there will likely be disputes, and international arbitration can be
an effective legal mechanism to resolve trade and investment
disputes across the digital economy. On that basis, this book
augments how the respective laws of commonwealth countries, along
with the model data and cyber laws of the Commonwealth should be
reviewed to minimise any legal divergence.   This
book provides a comparison and practical guide for academics,
students, and the business community of the current day data
protection laws and cross-border data flows among all commonwealth
countries.Â
