Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.

Young's Literal Translation of the Bible is a strictly literal
translation of the original Hebrew and Greek texts. It was written
in 1898 by Robert Young. It is a great resource for anyone serious
about finding out what the original authors of the Bible actually
wrote. It includes the preface to the 1st, Revised and 3rd
Editions.
The theory of critique, or 'critical theory', as developed by
Habermas and applied to education by Young, is far from being
merely negative. It is quite explicitly an optimistic educational
theory, in which the hope for rational progress, peace, global
understanding and ecological sanity, is celebrated. Now that
dogmatic Marxism has been swept into the rubbish bin of history, it
may be possible to engage in a less paranoid appraisal of the
claims of critical theory - the most revisionist legacy of Marxism.
A close look shows it to be eminently practical,
democratically-minded and responsible. In this book, Young
summarises critical learning theory, shows its relationship to
educational research, particularly research on classroom
communication, and demonstrates its value for classroom teachers in
a variety of 'real-life' classrooms. Far from being a utopian
approach, it comes to grips with the everyday problems of teachers
in real, imperfect, underfunded schools. Motivation, interest,
getting through the work, achieving real understanding and
teacher-planner relationships are fully discussed, using classroom
transcripts.
Robert Young's famous translation of the New Testament Gospels, in
which each passage is written to reflect its exact and literal
meaning, is presented here in this attractive edition. For his
translation of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Robert Young used two
resources: The Textus Receptus (TR) are manuscripts in Greek whose
origins date to antiquity. Collated and published by the
Renaissance theologian Erasmus, these texts were used in
translations by Christian luminaries such as William Tyndale,
Robert Estienne and the scholars who composed the celebrated King
James Bible. Prior to their arrangement by Erasmus, the Greek texts
had been faithfully copied by monk scribes through the generations.
Majority Text (MT) - or the Byzantine text - are the commonest form
of text used for describing the character of the New Testament.
This textual criticism was cross-referenced by Young, that he could
present his own work in the most consistently literal manner
possible.
Insect pests remain a major threat to crop production primarily
because of their ability to inflict severe damage on crop yields,
as well as their role as key vectors of disease. Early
identification of pests is critical to the success of integrated
pest management (IPM) programmes and essential for the development
of phytosanitary/quarantine regimes to prevent the introduction of
invasive insect pests to new environments. Advances in monitoring
of native and invasive insect pests of crops reviews the wealth of
research on techniques to monitor and thus prevent threats from
both native and invasive insect pests. The book considers recent
advances in areas such as sampling, identifying and modelling pest
populations. With its considered approach, the book explores
current best practices for the detection, identification and
modelling of native and invasive insect pests of crops. The
contributors offer farmers informed advice on how to mitigate a
growing problem which has been exacerbated as a result of climate
change.
