Mike Leigh writes and directs this Academy Award-nominated biographical drama about British artist J.M.W. Turner, who is here portrayed by Timothy Spall. The film explores the last 25 years or so of Turner's life in which he suffers greatly after the loss of his beloved father William (Paul Jesson) and has relations with his housekeeper Hannah Danby (Dorothy Atkinson) and, later, landlady Sophia Booth (Marion Bailey), who he lives with in Chelsea until his death. During this time he refuses to acknowledge the existence of his two illegitimate daughters Evelina (Sandy Foster) and Georgiana (Amy Dawson) and develops his painting style, which is often both praised and criticised. The cast also includes Lesley Manville, Karl Johnson and Ruth Sheen.

British suspense thriller following a young woman who is lured back to her home town having left years before in search of her missing mother. Rachael (Laura Fraser) is tricked into returning home by her ex-boyfriend, Rafe (Callum Blue), who tells her that her father is dying. While there, however, she grows closer to discovering what happened to her mother but, ultimately, the truth will lead her to danger.

Drama written and directed by the Oscar-winning Jane Campion about the relationship between 19th century poet John Keats (Ben Whishaw) and fashion student Fanny Brawne (Abbie Cornish). Their romance begins slowly but soon the young couple's feelings intensify as Fanny helps John care for his sick younger brother and John then agrees to teach Fanny about poetry. Fanny's mother (Kerry Fox) and John's best friend, Charles (Paul Schneider), both unhappy with the relationship for their own reasons, are unable to stop them growing closer to each other. Tragedy, however, lurks on the horizon.
