The inspirational story of the female motorsport pioneer who broke
through the gender barrier to compete in and win some of the most
iconic rallies in the world. Rosemary Smith is recognised
internationally for her outstanding achievements in the world of
motorsport. A female pioneer in a notoriously male-dominated sport,
she drove in the Monte Carlo rally eight times, winning the Coupe
des Dames on numerous occasions as well as competing in most other
iconic rallies all over the world, including the London to Sydney
in 1968, the World Cup London to Mexico in 1970 and the East
African Safari Rally in the 1970s. In a Hillman Imp, Rosemary won
the Tulip Rally outright, beating all the male drivers to the
finish. Now, for the first time, Rosemary reveals the inside story
of her amazing life, recounting many memorable adventures and
exploits both on and off the track. But Rosemary's story is not all
fast cars and marathon rallies. She writes with honesty about her
early life, about a disastrous marriage and money troubles - and
how she overcame it all.

Rosemarie Smith has written her autobiography in three parts;
Little Molly, Molly II: Am I who I should be? and Molly III: The
Untold Story. Having suffered, child abuse she reached a point
where she had totally given up on life and felt that the long hard
battle to survive just wasn't worth the pain anymore. In Molly III
she gives a true account of what it was like suffering severe
physical and mental abuse as a child and then to go on suffering
throughout most of her life. Just as she had given up on society
and every Government body, came a massive break-through and as a
result of that, on July 12th 2017, a judge ruled 'life in prison'
for her childhood abuser and said, "Rosemarie Smith's statement of
facts was `so compelling....' he believed abuser, John Wass had
committed every single sexual and indecent act that his victims had
given evidence on!
Swimming with Cobras is a memoir about a journey to find a foothold
in a foreign land grappling with it's own identity, offering rare
and important insight into a corner of South Africa's past.
Rosemary Smith's life as an activist in the Eastern Cape began when
she moved from England with her South African born husband in the
mid 1960s. They made their home in Grahamstown where they raised
four children. As a member of the Black Sash she participated in
events spanning three decades in an intensely politicised and
oppressed province. Through her involvement she made the transition
to full integration in a country that at first struck her as alien
and strange.
'Molly II' is the sequel to 'Little Molly' the true story of a
little girl who suffered so many beatings and experienced so much
sexual abuse that she suffered from an enormous fear of human
contact. In Molly II; I have tried to give some insight into the
aftermath that occurs in a victim's life following child abuse. It
is a true account of broken marriages, failed relationships,
abduction and attempted murder. It depicts the true story of a
young mother and her children's struggle to survive after being
destroyed by the effects and aftermath of child abuse.
