Heiligtum sits on the side of a mountain. It's the home of Erica
Cameron's sister Christina, and her husband Frank. Frank has
disappeared. Christina, with good reason, fears for his life. Erica
travels to Heiligtum to help find him. Erica has another reason to
go there. She has a terrible secret. Erica and her friends risked
their lives and their very souls because of what was hidden at
Lanshoud. Now they will have to do so again, only now they are not
the only people who know that something incredible lies at
Heiligtum. Expect the unexpected.
Erica Vansterdam, a young widow, living in Lanarkshire, still
grieving for her husband and with no other family to turn to,
bafflingly inherits an estate from an unknown benefactor: It is a
fortune and utterly life changing. The Estate lies in the vast and
magical Fetteresso Forest of rural Aberdeenshire on the East Coast
of Scotland. The details of the will force Erica to leave her home
and live on the estate for a year. Unwillingly she leaves
Lanarkshire and moves north to the house called Lanshoud, supported
by her two closest friends, Gillian and Katie and accompanied by
James the solicitor charged with overseeing the transfer of the
estate. No stretch of the imagination could prepare them for what
they will eventually find; neither for Lanshoud itself nor for the
terror they will face there. In desperation they turn to the police
but are met with cynicism and disbelief. Help does come, eventually
but from a most unexpected source. A little history, a little
fantasy, a supernatural tale with a twist. Lanshoud is in essence
the story of the most unlikely people bonding together in the face
of adversity. Friendships are formed but unfolding events cause
their loyalty to be tested. Some are forced to question their long
held faith and some have their grip on reality challenged, when
they stand together to face the secret of Lanshoud and the terror
of the Hunt.
This is a story of a rite of passage for three young boys, who have
to step up and be counted as young men, when Flash's seven year old
sister Molly is stolen by a Phooka called Buuldic, a dark faerie of
Celtic mythology, who spirits Molly away and leaves a changeling in
her place. Flash is ten, nearly eleven years old and has moved from
the city with his parents, his sister Molly and his baby brother
Cameron, to live in Rosewood Cottage, on the edge of ancient
woodland. Unfortunately these woods belong to the faeries. Flash
has made two friends at his new school and the boys spend the
summer building a den in the woods. Molly tags along and the
children have fun, until the day Molly goes missing. While
searching for Molly the boys meet a wood nymph called Laeonyla who
tells them what has happened to Molly. With the help of Laeonyla
and her people, the boys set off on an adventure, which takes them
into a world of strange creatures. Their friendship with each other
is strengthened, and their courage is tested, as they learn to
trust and respect the faeries, another race of beings, who befriend
them and who risk their own lives to help bring Molly home.
