This book examines how Performance or Outcomes Based Funding (POBF) policies impact racial equity in higher education. Over the last decade, higher education has become entrenched in a movement that holds colleges and universities more accountable to its supporters. There are pressures to answer questions about student outcomes and performance, the value of education, the effectiveness of instructors, and the ability of existing leaders to manage efficiently and effectively. It is within this climate that states have adopted POBF policies. Through POBF, public colleges and universities receive state funding through formulas that no longer rely solely on student enrollment, but are instead based on student outcomes. This book provides an overview for policymakers of how racial equity has been addressed, the impact of these approaches, and recommendations for moving forward.
British sci-fi adventure co-written and directed by Chris Reading. With their stint in deep space coming to an end, the discontented crew of a small cargo ship embark on their final mission before returning home. What seems like a straightforward trip soon begins to go wrong however, when the ship's computer takes over and diverts the craft to Somnus, a desolate asteroid station in the far reaches of the solar system. Not long after arriving, the crew discover that the colony is inhabited by a sinister cult with plans to end life on Earth. Facing up to the threat of the colonists, the crew battle for survival as they attempt to find a way home.
Binerkey Boing is a cat with exceptionally long whiskers that cause him to get into all kinds of trouble. He is sent away from home and on his travels meets a tapir with a strange nose who teaches Binerkey to be proud of who he is. He also meets a lobster who can't swim, a stoat and a cat with no tail. They all go to the circus to find work but Binerkey is captured by an evil ringmaster. A tender story to remind everyone that it's alright if you're different, you're just great the way you are.
