My name is Ruth Gordon. I was born in Switzerland in 1950 and left
at the age of 16 to pursue my ballet career. This journey brought
me to England in 1969 where I met Simon Gordon, a fine ballet
pianist and conductor, in 1978. Two weeks later we were married.
Unbeknownst to me Simon had suffered from Schizophrenia since the
age of 11. In 1980 I gave birth to our son Matthew. Simon's
grandmother (a huge influence on his life) died in 1981, incepting
an episode of Simon's latent Schizophrenia which culminated in him
kidnapping Matthew, beating me and finally committing suicide.
During this period, both Simon and I wrote diaries which are the
central components of this book. These diaries display the
differences in how we experienced this time of difficulty and
hopefully convey the raw emotions of this time.
Los Angeles trucker Phil Beddoe (Clint Eastwood) is less than
delighted to win orangutan Clyde in a fight. Together, the unlikely
twosome set out to track down Phil's lost love, a country and
western singer (Sandra Locke). Along the way they get involved in
various brawls and escapades. 2. Sequel to 'Every Which Way But
Loose', in which trucker come street-fighter Philo Beddoe (Clint
Eastwood) once more hits the road looking for a well-paid brawl.
The purse this time round is offered by an underworld king, whose
boxing champion has gained such a reputation that no-one dare face
him. Philo, however, knows no fear and can always rely on the
back-up of his trusty orang-utan sidekick, Clyde.

Three classic films from acclaimed director, Roman Polanski. In
'Rosemary's Baby' (1968), Mia Farrow stars as Rosemary, a young
wife whose husband (John Cassavetes), an actor, falls in with a
group of Satanists. When Rosemary becomes pregnant, she begins to
suspect that she may be carrying the child of the Devil. In 'The
Tenant' (1976), when Trelkovsky (Polanski) rents a decrepit, barren
flat he discovers that the flat's previous occupant, a young girl,
had leaped to her death from its window. Intrigued, he begins to
obsess about the girl and convinces himself that the other tenants
of the building are trying to drive him to self-murder as well. But
has Trelkovsky really only inherited the girl's suicidal urges?
Finally, in 'Chinatown' (1974), private eye Jake Gittes (Jack
Nicholson) is hired to follow water commissioner Hollis Mulwray
(Darrell Zwerling), only to see him turn up dead at the bottom of a
reservoir. Realising he has been used, Gittes confronts Mulwray's
widow Evelyn (Faye Dunway), a woman who seems to have plenty of
secrets of her own, not least her ambiguous relationship with her
father Noah Cross (John Huston).
