This book explores the human geographies of skilled migration,
specifically the practices, dispositions, relationships and
resources of professional women who participate in the global care
industry. Drawing on a wealth of interviews with migrant women
carers and experts in the fields of labor, care and migration, the
book address three major questions: Why do professional women
migrate for jobs for which they are overqualified? What strategies
do they use to cope with their decisions? And what are the outcomes
of their actions in terms of their social and economic integration
with the host country?
