The authors are drawn from a variety of disciplines and approaches, their ideas being presented as a pooling or harvest, rather than as a consensus. The 25 chapters provide background and in-depth discussion of multiple issues/problems related to Great Plains stewardship for future generations. The status and trends of major resources of the Great Plains within an historical, ecological and management framework are categorized according to common goals across the disciplines and can be used to make recommendations for public policy, research and development, and institutions. The challenge for residents of the Great Plains is to merge multiple ecosystem concepts to improve the environment and to improve economic vitality.

In Chapter 1 I was lonely and depressed, so I found myself on a dating website. Once again looking for something that I never thought I would see. While I was growing up, I did not have any romantic relationship with anyone. I was a virgin until I was twenty-two years old. When I lost my virginity to a one-night stand that I also met on a dating website a couple of months beforehand. However, I found myself looking through my messages on the website, and I found one that called out to me. I looked at Ezekiel's profile to see his name was Ezekiel Austin. He was thirty-one years old and lived in Suffolk Virginia. His longest relationship lasted ten years, and he divorced his ex-wife. I re-read the message he sent me a couple of times. Then I got off the laptop to think about what I wanted.

The next day we went to the beach and laid down on a chair to get a little sun. Ezekiel rubbed me down in suntan oil so I could get a tan. We laid there for a while until Ezekiel grabbed my hand and pulled me with him toward the water. Once we got to the water, Ezekiel picked me up. He carried me further into the water and then dropped me, so I fell ultimately into the water. I came out of the water laughing and coughing then I saw Ezekiel with the most significant smile which made my heart melt. After playing in the water all day with Ezekiel. We finally went to the bathrooms to wash the sand off and change our clothes. When I walked out of the toilet, Ezekiel met me at the door and then took my hand. We walked hand in hand to a restaurant on the boardwalk. We ate our dinner and then walked back to the room. That night we took showers. Once we were both out of the shower and dressed, we decided to drink and play strip poker.
