Tyrannosaurus rex may be the king of the dinosaurs, but that
doesn’t stop know-it-all Velociraptor from telling him he looks
old-fashioned and needs a makeover. So, with an improved posture,
some restyled body parts and a coat of shaggy feathers, T. rex gets
a new look to match the latest evidence. From the authors of The
Plesiosaur’s Neck, The Tyrannosaur’s Feathers takes an amusing
and informative look at how new discoveries have transformed our
understanding of T. rex’s appearance since this giant prehistoric
predator was first unearthed over a century ago.
The Internet has transformed the way people research, shop, conduct
business, and communicate. But the Internet and technologies that
enable online interaction and access to a variety of content can be
a perilous place for minors 8 to 18. The dangers are real, and
parents and teachers today are confronted with many threats they
simply do not understand. This book shares the risks of the
Internet by detailing recent, real-world tragedies and revealing
some of the secrets of online activities. It provides a pragmatic
approach to help parents and teachers protect children against the
threats of going online. Parents and teachers are often
ill-equipped to deal with the variety of devices and applications
such as email, instant messaging, browsing, blogs, cell phones, and
personal digital assistant devices (PDAs) that can facilitate the
dangers lurking online. How to Protect Your Children on the
Internet offers a comprehensive overview of the ways in which youth
use such technologies and exposes the risks they represent. At the
same time, it provides a roadmap that will enable parents and
teachers to become more engaged in children's online activities,
arming them with techniques and tips to help protect their
children. Smith underscores his arguments through chilling,
real-life stories, revealing approaches people are using to deceive
and to conceal their activities online. Filled with practical
advice and recommendations, his book is indispensable to anyone who
uses the Internet and related technologies, and especially to those
charged with keeping children safe.
David S. Smith. The son of Stan and Lily and brother to Avril,
David was born into a war torn Birmingham in the middle of an air
raid in 1940. Shortly after his birth their home was hit by enemy
action and this provides the conclusion of this book. His
recollection of the stories told by his Mother are brought vividly
to life. Many of these tales were written down by Lily in a little
blue book, in the latter part of her life. Her story bridges the
period from her birth in 1911 and covers the two wars ending in
1945. David has also written a collection of two volumes of short
stories. His career has covered the marketing of regional
newspapers, running companies as diverse as West End theatre
ticketing to computer systems and fashion magazines. He ran his own
marketing and PR agency for over 20 years before entering into the
world of local politics becoming leader of Lichfield District
Council. He was responsible for the construction and early
development of the Lichfield Garrick Theatre and made a major
contribution to the economic development of the district. He was
Chairman of the West Midlands Local Government Association together
chaired the West Midlands Regional Assembly. David is married and
has two children and three grandchildren.
After a year of the "Pyramid People" time jumping to different
periods of mankind's past, present, and future, the adventures
continue to delve into many more situations. Just like the 1st book
"Rings of Glory" helped to make the story, in the "Realm of Time,"
succeed. You will journey further in the quest of "Time and also
Space." The arrival of the "OGS," and my Dad, enable the "Pyramid
Clan" to go from the 4th to the 5th Dimension. This 2nd book has
many more new inventions. A little hint What happens in the past
year had its "Secrets Within Secrets." Helping the ogs, puts the 5
main characters and their people at odds with the "NOGS." They were
"Not on Gods Side " The conflicts really heat up, as Space
traveling let us fend off the evil influence of the "Nogs" race,
throughout the Universe. My Uncle stays on Earth with "Max," our
biggest Pyramid, to help Biblical history to be true to what it was
meant to be. Toward the end of the book, Dad is missing. The "On
Gods Side" race, also mention something about the 6th Dimension.
They tell me that I am the chosen one.

This collection of essays by leading scholars and diplomats
involved with the area examines the key political and economic
issues facing Japan, Russia, and their neighbors since the end of
the Cold War. The main goal is to analyze recent developments in
Moscow-Tokyo bilateral relations and their growing interest in
closer economic engagement, stability, and regional
cooperation.
The volume provides readers with an in-depth analysis of the
very problems and opportunities that compelled the national leaders
of Japan and Russia to drastically change the format and contents
of the dialogue, to address the most critical issues not only of
the moment but also for the future. The volume is a crucial
resource for scholars, policy makers, and students involved with
Asia-Pacific economic cooperation and Japanese and Russian foreign
policy.
This edited volume explores the intersections of the human,
nonhuman, transhuman, and posthuman from a phenomenological
perspective. Representing perspectives from several disciplines,
these investigations take a closer look at the relationship between
the phenomenology of life, creative ontopoiesis, and otherness;
technology and the human; art and the question of humanity;
nonhumans, animals, and intentionality; and transhumanism.
Ontological positioning of the human is reconsidered with regard to
the nonhuman, transhuman, and posthuman within the cosmos. Further
examination of the artificial and object in the lifeworld is also
explored. This volume also pays tribute to Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka
and her methodical contributions to phenomenology. This text
appeals to students and researchers of phenomenology worldwide.
Underlying Exodus in its priestly redaction is a pilgrimage.
Smith's new book starts by reviewing pilgrimage shrines, feasts and
practices in ancient Israel. Next, it examines the two pilgrimage
journeys in Exodus. In Exodus 1-15 Moses journeys to Mount Sinai,
experiences God and receives his commission. In Exodus 16-40, Moses
and the people together journey to Mount Sinai for the people's
experience of God and their commission. Between lies Exodus 15, the
fulcrum-point of the book: vv. 1-12 look back and vv. 13-18 look
forward to Israel's journey to Sinai. Finally, the different
meanings of torah in the book of Exodus are contrasted, and the
book concludes with a consideration of Exodus's larger place in the
Pentateuch.>
