Contemporary France has witnessed a rise of new forms of social movement, mobilizing around new causes and articulating changing demands. Sarah Waters examines the new generation of movements of the 1990s, from anti-racism and the movement of the unemployed to solidarity or the associations of the "Sans." She argues that emerging movements share a profoundly civic dimension: these are movements about rights and are concerned with who has rights and what those rights are. They manifest a desire to reinvent citizenship in the present day in relation to a new set of social struggles and conflicts.
This is a contemporary, comprehensive book that provides a wealth of information providing theoretical constructs to support an understanding of dissociation, detailed and careful assessment process, creative techniques for children and their families to help children heal from chaotic, traumatizing experiences. This book is a must for clinicians, speech pathologists, parents and those who come in contact with traumatized children. This book will provide an integrative view of adjunct therapies and environments other than psychotherapy (e.g. school), and how their strategies can be utilized effectively to augment therapy and understand dissociative children.

"By His Stripes We are Healed" peeks into the lives of several members of the Solid Rock Pentecostal Church. Sabrina Jackson is quick to point out her husband's flaws and is devastated when he forces her to examine herself. Diane Pearson is too busy for her own good. She's been "running for Jesus a long time" and beginning to grow weary. With a creative blend of Christian principals and drama, "By His Strips We are Healed" leaves us no choice but to evaluate ourselves, our relationships with others and more importantly-our relationship with God. Pastor Pass is convinced that Jezebel is not only "live in the flesh" but trying to destroy everything he has worked so hard to build. Pastor Pass inadvertently becomes a busy body in his attempts to keep his congregation on the straight and narrow path. Finally, Pastor Pass receives revelation from the Lord and delivers a sermon that provokes thought and emotion so powerfully that all of the members of the Solid Rock flock to the alter. Sabrina, Diane, Pastor Pass and the rest of the congregation learn that although they have been broken they still have Jesus and By HIS Stripes they are healed.
