Focusing on Sobolev inequalities and their applications to analysis on manifolds and Ricci flow, Sobolev Inequalities, Heat Kernels under Ricci Flow, and the Poincare Conjecture introduces the field of analysis on Riemann manifolds and uses the tools of Sobolev imbedding and heat kernel estimates to study Ricci flows, especially with surgeries. The author explains key ideas, difficult proofs, and important applications in a succinct, accessible, and unified manner. The book first discusses Sobolev inequalities in various settings, including the Euclidean case, the Riemannian case, and the Ricci flow case. It then explores several applications and ramifications, such as heat kernel estimates, Perelman's W entropies and Sobolev inequality with surgeries, and the proof of Hamilton's little loop conjecture with surgeries. Using these tools, the author presents a unified approach to the Poincare conjecture that clarifies and simplifies Perelman's original proof. Since Perelman solved the Poincare conjecture, the area of Ricci flow with surgery has attracted a great deal of attention in the mathematical research community. Along with coverage of Riemann manifolds, this book shows how to employ Sobolev imbedding and heat kernel estimates to examine Ricci flow with surgery.
This study addresses how China's policy response to problems in Xinjiang is interpreted and implemented by officials, who are both governing agents and governed subjects by interviewing Chinese officials working in both Central government and Local governments.

Though it's widely understood that inward foreign direct investment has played a major role in mediating China's emergence into the international economic system, how and why MNEs have implemented their involvement as part of their global strategy is less well understood. This book explores the nature of the MNE in this era of globalization.
Multinationals, China and the Global Economy analyses the results
of an in-depth survey of subsidiaries in China of leading
manufacturing multinational enterprises (MNEs). It investigates the
strategic roles played by these subsidiaries and the sources of
technologies they access or generate in doing this. It provides an
original contribution to the understanding of important issues in
international business, the economic development of China and
economics.
The rapid social and economic changes in China have brought about
unprecedented challenges and opportunities to international
stakeholders. This book provides valuable information about the key
sectors of China's health care system after its entrance into WTO,
including the pharmaceutical industry, health insurance services,
and hospitals and related health service provision in terms of
policies, legal framework and market potential. It offers a
critical analysis from a multi-disciplinary perspective of the
impact of WTO and globalization on China's health care
system.
Unique and useful book covering fundamental knowledge and practical applications of polymer materials in energy storage systems In Functional Polymers for Metal-Ion Batteries, the recent development and achievements of polymer-based materials are comprehensively analyzed in four directions, including electrode materials, binders, separators, and solid electrolytes, highlighting the working mechanisms, classification, design strategies, and practical applications of these polymer materials in mental-ion batteries. Specific sample topics covered in Functional Polymers for Metal-Ion Batteries include: Prominent advantages of various solid-state electrolytes, such as low flammability, easy processability, more tolerance to vibration, shock, and mechanical deformation Why and how functional polymers present opportunities to maximize energy density and pursue the sustainability of the battery industry How the application of functional polymers in metal-ion batteries helps enhance the high energy density of energy storage devices and reduce carbon footprint during production How development of functional separators could significantly lower the cost of battery manufacturing Providing a comprehensive understanding of the role of polymers in the whole configuration of metal-ion batteries from electrodes to electrolytes, Functional Polymers for Metal-Ion Batteries is an ideal resource for materials scientists, electrochemists, and polymer, solid state, and physical chemists who wish to understand the latest developments of this technology.
